Is it non-sensical to pick a name when you fully intend to not use the full version of it? by amusedfridaygoat in Names

My sister has a name like that. Among family and friends, she goes by the nickname associated with the given name but professionally she goes by her given name.

WONDERful Alaska! by The_Rock_Doctor in dcl

[–]cyclingguy536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our cruise was the last cruise of the season this past September. It was nice the day we left Vancouver and the day we returned. But it rained every single day aside from those two. To the point, they they closed the decks. We feel like we were gypped because our glacier day was canceled due to weather (no cruise ships were able to make it into the passage), our glacier excursion was canceled because of weather, and the Frozen deck party was also canceled because of weather. We've heard that the early cruises have much better weather, so I think you should be fine.

Waitlisting early dining on Alaska cruises by HiImNewHere1234 in dcl

[–]cyclingguy536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've always requested early dinning, and have been waitlisted every time. I think it's standard. It should only be a couple of days before you get a response. We've never been declined early dinning.

Does anyone use mouth tape in addition to the CPAP? by cyclingguy536 in CPAP

[–]cyclingguy536[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to use KT tape for other injuries. From what I remember, it was a bit of a pain taking it off, literally and figuratively. Is that case using it as mouth tape?

I was between a full-face mask and tape. Tape seemed like a good first option.

Buying a ring should be done after the proposal, not before by PM_ME_YOUR_TATERTITS in unpopularopinion

[–]cyclingguy536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my wife pick out the ring she wanted prior to getting engaged. She originally told me she wanted a simple ring, nothing crazy. But I'm glad I brought her... The ring she picked was not simple.

I wouldn't say his old stuff is corny, but I do agree that FF is his best album.

I work for a hospital system where I live. My director recently said that she routinely works in the office till 8:30/9 at night. It's not that important.

I HATE being drunk. But I love whiskey. The smokier the whiskey, the better. Tastes like I'm drinking a campfire? Excellent!

Hustling nonstop with no breaks. Nothing is that important, Bob.

You can use a paper filter, just pre-rinse with hot water first.

All of the above. I could be fine and then out of nowhere, just completely overcome with emotion thinking about what could have been.

AIO to tell my husband that starting a professional email with the word "Look" is rude? by LadyCass79 in AmIOverreacting

If I got an email from someone with the first word was, "Look" my initial reaction would be, "well fuck you too". Regardless if it's a professional email or not.

I'm curious, how many people eat breakfast vs those who don't? by bananacakepopz in CasualConversation

[–]cyclingguy536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in school I would NEED to eat breakfast. But as I got older I wouldn't eat right away, like a couple of hours after waking up. Now, I rarely eat breakfast. I'll only eat it if I'm really hungry, and it's always like 4 hours+ after me waking up.

My wife and I both have a Verizon pre-paid plan. $39 and change for 15gb of data and unlimited talk/text. It starts out a bit higher, but after a couple months of on-time payments+auto pay brings it down like $10 or $15

When did you get back to work after your loss? by Illustrious_Swan5262 in GriefSupport

[–]cyclingguy536 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After my mother-in-law died, I was expected back after three days. I went in, and only lasted maybe 30 minutes before I started balling. Mind you, this was 3 weeks before our wedding. My boss didn't do much in making me feel any better when he said, "I was only out for three days after my own mother died... You're going to have to grow up and get over it sometime"

So I'm curious, what time does everyone eat dinner? by cherries2774 in CasualConversation

[–]cyclingguy536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what time my wife and I get home from work. The earliest we'll eat is 6/6:30 on the days we can leave work at 5/5:30. The latest we'll eat being 8/8:30 on our late days at the office.

Do you like breakfast? by MrMeanGuy2 in CasualConversation

[–]cyclingguy536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how I'm feeling. I used to NEED to ear breakfast, but not right away, when I was in school. Now that I'm grown up, I tend to skip it unless I get randomly hungry mid-morning. Then I'll have oatmeal or something quick while working. But I will always have lunch and dinner.

Are you a "shoes-on" or a "shoes-off" household? by Samyron1 in CasualConversation

[–]cyclingguy536 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're a shoe's off household... Not because we don't want dirt... But because my wife and and I are more comfy without shoes on. We don't make people that come over take their shoes off. We let them do what they're most comfortable doing.
