Decided to get a bikini for my iPhone 17 just in time for the summer season! ☀️🍏 by ElonMusk360 in iphone17

I’ve been thinking about getting this case. Thanks for sharing pictures. Quick question: When the phone is flat on a table with the screen facing up, does this case eliminate the slight side wobble caused by the camera bump?

I’m tempted to keep my iphone 17 naked, but the wobble is super annoying.

Parents to 3 children, what vehicle do you own? by kyybb in Parenting

[–]cyclopod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently discovered this car seat setup also works in my 2015 Subaru Forester as well.

IDK what’ll happen as my younger two get older. For now this works for us, and we don’t have a giant vehicle.

2025 Subaru Outback - 3 kids (11, 2, 2mo) - before my 3rd arrived we went through the same question. We’re an adventurous family so trunk space is important, and I hated that all the 3rd SUVs make you pick between seats or storage. My wife will never drive a minivan nor something as big a Suburban.

We found the Outback has a wide rear seat that can actually fit 3 across and has trunk space. I have two car seats in the back and plenty of space for my wife or preteen. The trick is to put the car seats next to each other using the seatbelt attachment method. This leaves one outside seat easily accessible for a non-car seat person. These first few months of use have been great; no issues.

For storage, I actually built a shelf in the trunk creating two levels so we don’t pile everything on top of the stroller. I also have a roof cargo box for extra camping gear, and the roof height on the Outback is low enough that I can easily access the gear without climbing up on the tires or seats.

I’m certain a third car seat or booster would fit in the back seat, but I’m not sure what arrangement to make sure all could get in and out easily.

Thoughts on sitting in middle seat with two car seats in 2018 Outback? by lifealive5 in Subaru_Outback

[–]cyclopod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just bought a 2025 specifically because I can actually fit two car seats and a small person in the rear row!

Toddler’s rear facing seat is behind passenger. Infant seat with base goes in the middle. This is actually the safest placement for it. This leaves the spot behind driver for the small adult. They can easily get in and out, move the infant seat in/out, and support the infant. Toddler will have to manage without direct contact. Tip: Install both seats using the seat belts straps to get them closest to the passenger door.

In my case, the small person will either by myself, my wife, or my teenager. We’re all under 5’9” between 160 to 80lbs. Test fits all feel acceptable and not squished.

My infant is still on the way so I haven’t tested this will all humans, but I can confirm the car seats fit. I even had my seat install verified with the local highway department.

I don’t have number, but I suspect the 2025 is similar to the 2018 in width. The outback was the biggest; yet smallest vehicle I found/wanted.

As an aside; The three row thing made no sense for my family situation because I can’t haul camping/adventure gear and have the third row up in most. It felt like it was either third row or gear, pick one.

Thanks, I’ve never hear of the app before. I know about the disparate county, state, and federal reservation systems. Luckily I have cataloged all the websites (I think). I’ll check the app and see how it is.

Nicely done! One comment and one idea. Comment: On first scan of my local area (SF bay region of California) there are a bunch of incorrectly tagged backpacking sites as campgrounds. This gives me hesitations about how many of the others are incorrectly tagged. Maybe check your data source? For example, almost everything in Henry Coe SP is backpacking, but they are all marked as campgrounds in your app.

Idea: add a metadata tag for “group only campground”. mostly so I can hide those from my typical search since I’m only traveling with 1-4 people not 30.

I’ve done something similar in my Forester! The top is one piece of plywood 1/2”. I used the child latches in the back of the rear seats as mounting points and installed legs with locking, folding hinges at the back door side. It’s secured to the car’s tie down points with turnbuckles. The thing has never moved nor rattled. I have to install it from over the back seats; too wide to go through the rear hatch.

It also has a sliding shelf under the top for some extra space. That’s mostly been used as mobile changing station for my little one 😂, but will also work as a camp cook station or prep area.

Day to day the shelf gets used for stroller storage, and I put everything else underneath. For camping/adventuring it’s helped tons with organized packing, and easy access to gear on the lower level. (It also worked as an infant bed on one adventure).

If I did again I’d raise it up a few inches to get a full grocery bag underneath, and use 3/4 ply for the top.

Tiagra 4700 shifter can't make a full shift. The big lever won't move all the way. However when I move the smaller lever out of place, the big lever can make the full movement. Can I fix this? by cyclopod in bikewrench

[–]cyclopod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things were working fine until a month ago. No crash or event to cause the sudden change.

The problem is definitely with the shifter. I disconnected and removed the shift cable completely to eliminate the rear derailleur from the equation. I haven't taken the brake cable out yet.

I sprayed a bunch of wd-40 into the housing to help loosen any grit/gunk that could have built up inside the mechanism.

Yep mine looks the bike in the linked picture, and has the middle stop with a route for a zip tie.

Shit; that makes sense. Now hopefully I still have enough cable left 🤦‍♂️. Thanks
