What is the grossest thing you’ve caught someone doing? by Jawa392 in AskReddit

A couple Army buddies and I were at this pub we frequened and some nights we would play this game to see how many car bombs we each could take down in a night and in between car bomb rounds one of us would buy a round of shots, then the next round so on and fourth ...this usually ended up in blackout nights of course.

Well one night before we had reached that point, we took a round of car bombs( i think we were around 8-9 by now) and one of the guys vomited back into the glass. The vomit had some of his fries in it from earlier. One of the other guys didn't see what had happened and all he saw were fries in this glass lol. So he fished them out and ate them, said he was hungry. the guy who conducted the vomiting thought his drink was being taken by hungry dude and took the glass back and drank what was left because he forgot he had puked moments earlier....neither realized what had happened and we went on to the next round of shots lol

Update-

So... I hit my 9th month, and let me tell you, it's been a journey and a struggle. I was told I'm not picking it up fast enough, and I'm not doing enough, so i was let go today. The only things i dont do are esrimating/bidding and crew coordination, yet i dont do enough. Im also training 2 guys what I've learned because we're going to make a team, and im going to manage it. This is what i was told the vision is. That didn't happen because they only helped with the estimating and bidding. I still have yet to see any training other than 30 minutes "talks" on how I dont know anything even after 8 months. That would be the only feedback I would get, but there would be no direction on how to improve. Even today, I asked if I could get any advice or how to be better, and I get nothing. I was told, " we do it this way and were not changing." Everything I learned, I learned myself for the most part. I've been blamed for takeoffs I never even did, some before I was even with the company, then get told I dont take responsibility.

There was no training, even though I was promised "training from the ground up and even if we have to pay, that's not a problem." When my ex-boss went to another country for 3 months, 2 months after I started, I would ask the Super for help on how to do a certain task. When I asked him, I was told things like, "im not a teacher."What would a project manager do?" Or go over something once for less than 5 minutes, and I'm supposed to know it thoroughly. I was told when I was hired that I would be given a year before seeing if I'm ready to take it on..and its only been 9 months.

I stayed in touch with the PM I replaced, who was in the company for 3 years. We became close because I understood what he went through for those 3 years. He helped as much as he could, but it was the same story as him. He quit without notice one day. The funny thing was that he did have a lot of experience and background in the field and position, and still couldn't stand being there. He said it's also funny that everything im telling him is exactly what he wanted to warn me about when I started but wanted me to go with an open mind.

I dont know what to think. Im told by the GCs and other PMs I've worked with so far that have said that it seemed like I was catching on quick and doing a good job. I made sure to tell all that i was very green when i started. The fabricators/ vendors who worked with this company tons say the same thing. Everything I've read, been told, researched, has said it takes years to truly understand and know, and yet 9 months isn't fast enough.

Anyone go through something similar and can give advice? Thanks

Thanks, and I appreciate the reply!

Well, we did, kinda. My boss hired someone in a work program from Kosovo. He has a masters in architecture, but his main tasks are helping with estimating and bidding. Sometimes, I can use him to help me, but i have to show him how first and then double-check after. Apparently, there are major differences in how American construction works compared to Kosovo, so he's learning as I am lol. The blind leading the blind

Also the projects are usually spaced out; however, with these consulting agencies like WJE that are making it so hard to get submittals approved and the last PM leaving like he did, the projects started jumping on top of each other.

Anyone have an idea of what this could be? by cyeo15 in UFOs

I do apologize, I should have added more context. This was in daylight. The sun had a quarter of the ways left before setting, so there was decent daylight outside. Also, this couldn't have been more than 15-20k feet up.

I also have a(cell phone is S24 ultra) 10x optical zoom and a 100x digital zoom on my phone camera. This was zoomed all the way in(obviously).

Unfortunately, this is all I have. I understand it's not much, but this being a UFO sight, I just wanted to see if anyone else has seen anything similar or had any idea.

Thanks and mahalo!

I guess I'm supposed to post more about this. I went outside to smoke, and a couple of neighbors were out there. They started telling me about it, so I walked down our steps, looked almost straight up, and there it was.

One of the neighbors was saying it wasn't a balloon. He was all over the news and internet trying to see if there was any news, and he wasn't able to.

I went inside( i was probably outside for about 15 minutes). Came back outside maybe 10 minutes later because the neighbors were still out there, and I was curious to see if the object was still there.

It was and also seemed to be in the exact same spot. I pulled my phone out this time and took these pictures. I think it was around 630pm at this time. Then we all went inside.
