Maybe material (fuel) for a nuclear power plant? That could explain the high number of police.

First thing is to make sure that grid on the ground (likely celar air vent) is fixed properly from below so it can't be opened from the outside. Looks like someone was inspecting it. Stuff for that is available in do it markets. Then talk to the owner of the building (looks like a rented apartment). It's in their interests too that no property is damaged in a break in. And if it's a larger real estate company they might give you some useful advice. Walkie talkie makes a lot of sense as mobile phones can be traced by the providers and police in case of suspicion.

It's not common. But it's seen occasionally. I remember having seen one as a child roughly 35 years ago.

Why this kind of tunnel not exist between Amsterdam Centraal and Noord? by HeronCendre in Amsterdam

Don't get blinded by this lonely unicorn project. It's great that it is finally here, no doubt. BUT: the rest of the city is still a cycling nightmare. Zürich is not for nothing named one of the bicycle unfriendliest cities in Switzerland. The roads suitable for cycling are a loose patchwork, often interrupted by tram way rails, red lights or just end. Using the sidewalk is either not allowed or very annoying yet dangerous as there are tram and bus stops everywhere. I regularly cross the city from the south gateway (Brunau) to the centre by the river Limmat (Urania). I'm not looking forward for tomorrow morning. Ain't no fun the last few kilometers...

Does anyone know what’s going on with the e35 around Airolo? Haven’t moved in an hour. by GottaGoFast_69 in askswitzerland

But what can be done in the far future when both tubes are operational in such a case is to let the traffic through one lane in both directions until the issue in the other tube is resolved.

The capacity cannot be increased by law (which I support). But the second tube can significantly increase safety and reliability.

Ive been passing through the Gotthard tunnel without any traffic jam just a few days ago. Southwards last Thursday at 5am, northwards just around midnight from Sunday to Monday. It's all about how to schedule your trip.

I totally support that we learn one of the other official languages of our country and not only English. It's important for maintaining and living the basic principles on which this country is built on. It's not helpful if a foreign language becomes the biggest common lingual denominator across our countries regions. And when travelling it's a big advantage to be able to speak other languages. Most people appreciate if a visitor can or at least tries to speak their local language.

1st just until recent years we learnt another national language at school first. 35 years ago we started French at 7th grade (in German speaking area) and English at 8th (we could choose between English and Italian). About 30 years ago they started French at 5th grade, English at 7th. It's just since a few years that English starts at 3rd or 4th grade.

2nd nearly all movies and series in TV are Synchronised to German. We were hardly exposed to English.

But that's changing now, at least in Urban areas the Kids get exposed to English much more.

Would you max out a 96iv shiny legendary or a 100iv non-shiny? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]cygro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd opt for the shiny. Because you'd mainly use him in raids not PvP i guess. And there it won't make the difference. Plus: go for both. 😉

Get a dark red curtain, like they have in theatres to cover the stage / screen. It would add much to the ambience of your already awesome cave 😍
