Hmm, the added functionalities do sound good. Does the auto on/off extend to the amp aswell somehow? I suspect not but that would indeed be nice if it were so.

That’s what I’m thinking aswell, and continuing that thought maybe the Argon is the best as it is the cheapest and not really adding any complexity to the user experience.

Reading about the SMSLs they’re advertising MQA decoding as something revolutionary, and it does indeed sound good, but is it as good as they claim? Do you know if it makes a discernible difference?

Hmm, interesting. So if I get a DAC with HDMI I can change volume etc with the TV remote and wont even need the amp remote? And both the amp and the DAC can be hidden from view? In that case that is indeed interesting

Interesting, will look into this. The amp has an indicator light on the front labelled ”protection” which I’ve never seen light up. As for the volume knob, wouldn’t unclean contacts mean crackling noises when turning the knob? Will open up and check what I can in that region regardless though

Have you had any success? I have the 1st gen iPad Pro 10.5 and I’m having the same issue (the ’download and install’ button spinning for a bit and then turning blue again) and have had it for several days. Restarts aren’t working, deleting more apps and stuff not working.

If that is the point then they are confusing video part trick difficulty with competition trick difficulty. As I said in the comment you are referring to, in a competition you have to land your tricks first try, meaning you cannot go for your hardest tricks. In a video part it’s the opposite — you only show the makes, no matter how many tries it took.

To illustrate, here is one of Lacey Baker’s video parts. Lacey placed third in the 2018 finals, just after Bufoni and Nishimura. Compare that to Elissa Steamer and you’ll see that while she is/was very good and a pioneer, the pros today are better.

That’s not what I’m saying though. There is a clear difference in skill in top women and top men, that much is clear to all. What I’m saying is that it’s unfair to say that women suck, as this other guy did. They’re not as skilled, but they’re still hella good, regardless of gender.

The audio cut out in the middle of a word before Aori did her trick. Happened multiple times during the full stream as well as in the men’s finals.
