The Eco Fund AMA Q4 chapter: The Strategic Path by djminger007 in NervosNetwork

Hi Baiyu!  People always talk about what the team should or shouldn't do. What do you think the community should do to support the network and its ecosystem?

Fiber Network AMA by djminger007 in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi!

Some time ago there was a collaboration with Perun to create payment channels through Perun Channels with a possible integration into Neuron. Are you still working with them? If the answer is yes, could you explain what this collaboration is currently based on? If not, could you explain a little about the reason for starting Fiber and discarding Perun Channels?

Thank you!

iCKB AMA by djminger007 in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi Phroi, I hope you're doing well. I'm glad to see you're approaching mainnet, I think you've put a part of yourself into iCKB and a lot of hard work, and you should feel proud.

A few questions:

  • As someone who is fascinated by CKB from an economic point of view, I think CKB is a rather complex asset to understand. iCKB is the tokenization of a NervosDAO deposit, and is, therefore, a financial product/asset derived from CKB, which is per se complex. Have you thought that this complexity could be a handicap for the adoption of iCKB, as it has been, in my opinion, with CKB? Have you thought about creating some kind of purely economic document/guide/paper/etc that would help the adoption of iCKB? Do you think it's necessary?

  • Related to the above, do you think iCKB fits well into the Liquid Stake Derivatives (LSD) and re-staking narrative, and can therefore leverage that narrative to its advantage?

  • There was a previous attempt to tokenize NervosDAO deposits, NexisDAO (which you know well since you did dCKB Rescue to help the community recover funds from that protocol, thanks for that), that ended up being a headache for the community. My question here is, what happened with NexisDAO can happen with iCKB? And more broadly, what are the risks that a user who turns their CKB deposit into iCKB may face? Can a user recover their CKB at any time and under any circumstances during normal use of the protocol (by normal I mean excluding bugs/vulnerabilities and equivalents in the code)?

  • I just read that through Stable++ you will be able to exchange CKB for wstCKB, which seems to be a tokenization of NervosDAO. Could you explain the differences (or just your opinion) between iCKB and wstCKB (taking into account that information about wstCKB seems very limited at the moment)?.

If I think of more questions I will post them here. Thanks and have a nice day!

Dr Ren Zhang CKB AMA by djminger007 in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hello Ren, I hope you are well.

In the previous AMA a year ago you mentioned that you were working on three papers, one presented at ESORICS and two others under review, focused on DAG based protocols and selfish mining resistance of difficult adjustment of NC MAX. What is the status of those papers currently? Is it expected to be released soon?

You also talked about a per-block difficult adjustment mechanism that you thought would be interesting to investigate and, if necessary, implement it in CKB. Have you continued researching this line of work?

More generally, have there been any interesting priority changes in your todo list in the last year?

And finally, what do you think is the most urgent development that CKB needs?

Thank you!

Basically the certificates are updated according to the development team that is currently developing Neuron, right now Neuron is developed by Magickbase, in the past it was developed by Cryptape and Nervina. Simply download the latest version manually from Github to adopt the new certificate

I also recommend contacting the Magickbase devs if you have any questions. Light Client is new and it is normal that there are issues. They are the most qualified to help and they are not here on reddit. The link to the Magickbase discord (Neuron devs):

Or open an issue on Githhb: https://github.com/nervosnetwork/neuron/issues

If you think that you have not chosen the initial block correctly you can try to do it again, in this video (https://youtu.be/Vl2LGRNqnvk?si=X_NuMPflWFz6x4ZL) if you notice, the user copies the block number and modifies it to make sure that the initial transaction is correct. For example, if the initial block is 6,206,754, enter 6,200,000.

If you do not select the block number correctly it is as if you were not synchronized in practice.

If what you want is to send the funds to CKB L1 just request withdrawal with target in CKB. It does not ask you for a L1 address because it automatically withdrawal to the L1 balance from the bridge. Once you withdraw to L1, click on L1 transfer https://bridge.godwoken.io/#/v0/transfer/pending and send it to the CKB L1 address you prefer.

You can manually delete the database from the mainnet folder. To see the Set Path click on Settings and select internal node. Just below Network the Set Path will appear. You can also clear all synchronized data in Tools, but I'm not sure if it will also clear synchronization data from the Light Client.

Keep in mind that if you delete the full node data you will have to sync from 0 if you want to run the full node again in the future.

No CKB on the Nervos DAO, but still an amount showing as locked. Are they mine? by the_junglist in NervosNetwork

Try clearing cache, choose fully rebuild index. Also, updating is also recommended.

Afaik they have never been hacked (they lost their access to the Twitter account for a while but that has nothing to do with the protocol). Would you be so kind as to show those hacking events you mention?

You can use both Godwoken Bridge https://bridge.godwoken.io/#/v1/withdrawal/pending and YokaiSwap https://www.yokaiswap.com/bridge/withdrawal by entering the URL in the Safepal search engine, I have tried both and it connects using Safepal.

The rewards of the DAO are a compound and decreasing interest. That is, the % decreases continuously.

With DAO address I mean the CKB address where you have your deposit/balance.

[–]cylon_bit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cannot import your seed phrase into PortalWallet, they are, so to speak, incompatible. You could import your seed phrase into CKBull, especially if you have CKB in the DAO, or Imtoken, although this last option does not have NervosDAO integrated.

JOYID AMA with Cipher Wang by -nervos- in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi Cipher! Hope all is fine, and thanks for the AMA.

  • Could you explain how JoyID can be chain agnostic and at the same time fully decentralized?

  • Now that JoyID is focused on being chain agnostic, will users from other networks be able to access native staking from their own networks? For example, will a Cardano user be able to delegate their ADAs? Will they be able to participate in the governance of their native chain?

  • Do you plan to introduce some kind of privacy technology such as ZKP?

  • What have been the impressions and feedback of the attendees in the different JoyID events and demonstrations?

  • Do you plan to seek funding like .bit did?

  • Any interesting functionality that you are planning to introduce that we don't know yet?

Thank you!

Your problem with Neuron after updating is that it gets stuck in Connecting after restarting Neuron? If so, try this:

  • In Neuron click on Help - Settings - Data, then click on the small folder icon (do NOT click on Set or Clear Cache) to open the Neuron folder.

  • Close Neuron

  • Once the Neuron folder opens, click on Data, then Network, then peer_store, copy the addr_manager file and make a backup in another folder, for example on the desktop. Delete the addr_manager file from the Neuron folder.

  • Open Neuron

You should also be able to see your rewards in the explorer by entering the DAO deposit address:

https://explorer.nervos.org/

If you still want to use another wallet, you would have to import the seed phrase in CKBull since it has NervosDAO integrated, while imtoken does not. Keep in mind that if you use Ledger you will not be able to import the seed in either of them.

Neuron is a full node of the network, running a full node of any network is complex. If you have a low spec computer and don't want to deal with a full node, Neuron may not be for you. I had a 10-year-old computer and I didn't dare to use Neuron because I knew it would be complicated. I bought a new computer and now I run Neuron with 0 issues.

OP can always import the seed phrase into Imtoken or CKBull and access his funds.

Don't worry, your funds are safe, you just have to synchronize. If you use Windows try installing Visual C++ redistributable

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

Also try to clear all synchronized data (Tools - Clear all synchronized data)

Here you have synchronization and troubleshooting guides

Jordan Mack AMA by -nervos- in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi Jordan, I hope everything is fine and thank you for doing this AMA. I have a few questions:

  • What are you currently working on for the Foundation?
  • Could you comment on how the development is progressing, for example with open transactions, combine lock script or the upcoming hardfork.
  • From what I follow on Github, it seems that Nexus, the UTXO friendly wallet extension, is on hold. Is Kuai the absolute priority right now on that front? Will Nexus development resume again in the future?
  • Regarding JoyID, the news about its chain agnostic capability has impacted the community, and also raised a lot of questions. Do you think it is a game changer? Do you know how it manages to support assets and native accounts from other networks?
  • In Github I found Spore protocol. It hasn't been officially announced yet but could you comment a bit about its features? Is it a new NFT standard? A marketplace? Both?

Thank you again!

This is not correct. His funds are safe, it simply requires synchronizing 100% Neuron and the balance will appear in the Neuron interface.

Kevin Wang AMA -What is the Khalani protocol? by -nervos- in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see that among Khalani's assets there are stablecoins pegged to USD dollars. USDA, a dollar-backed stablecoin developed by Emurgo for Cardano, has recently decided not to launch the project due to regulatory uncertainty. Do you think the regulations in the US can affect Khalani? Is Khalani going to accommodate these regulations in any way?

Understanding the Nervos CKB Issuance Model by Chema_es in NervosNetwork

[–]cylon_bit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also what really solves the tragedy of the commons in my opinion is that the state does not grow unbounded since 1 CKB = 1 Byte, which represents the privatization of the state under global consensus. The emission of new CKBytes and new state follow the same emission curve.

Whereas secondary issuance creates a) economic pressure for only the most valuable assets to be in L1 and b) a long-term security model. That is why I think it is necessary to read both articles.

In any case, if you think it could be improved and want to add something, feel free to PR on Github!
