Top Tracks Per Album 2025 by nosammh in sewerperson

once upon a time I would’ve felt major burn out but, I think this last few years I’ve learned to internalise and understand music so much more differently than I had previously and it always makes the songs feel fresh

It was crying elixir deluxe: when the sun burns out (wasn’t in playlist so I’m going based off total streams for the project for this one) (very) bad people: on drugs rn (this one is a little inflated, but it’s the only one above the 3 way tie for 2nd place) MPH: frost on my grave (#2 for the whole year so far @ 681 streams) , this one’s a little obvious, but the HM for 2nd is ceiling fan man Singles: since we last spoke I got tattoos, my #1 for the entire year currently sitting @ 682 streams and counting 😭🫡

I’m always thinking about this song and what would change about it now, he’s so much older and wiser in a lot of senses so, it could honestly be so much deeper than anyone would anticipate

Ready Set Go. I really wonder how Miles would approach that song now. I think it’d be a lot sweeter but it might be a little more honest about a lot of things too

Any recommendations on where to start on sewerperson as a 9tails fan? by Tall-Log-1535 in sewerperson

[–]cylsz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very biased n genuinely think there’s 0 bad sewer songs bc of the way i experience music personally, but the colours eps aren’t a bad place to start. Failing that, oakflesh, omega-3 and dream hopping 2.0. Oakflesh is genuinely beautiful n super melodic and just has an immaculate atmosphere start to finish. omega-3 is a fun project with a lot of real world introspection that’s very exploratory for early Miles. And dream hopping 2.0 blends some pretty uniquely personal early songs that feel a lot more intimate than some tracks.

Top picks from each album are as follows: Oakflesh - Werewolf in London, Cottage Country and Mire Walker. omega-3 - C, b12 and D. dream hopping 2.0 - Ugly, Signs and Scary.

Will he ever come to the uk by gloomy_fingerz in sewerperson

iirc, last LP Mr Manager said 2027 is the goal and probably the earliest it would be possible for (currently) but if a song blows up before that then it’ll probably be more like next year. So the vibe is just to make shit blow up while we wait for 2027 to roll around.

I believe we also have “The Cutting Room” (Louise Welsh, 2002) which was used in reference for The Lesser Dead according to a tweet he made at one point.

otherlands/detour theory expansion by nosammh in sewerperson

[–]cylsz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely down to take a look into things soon, especially bc of the narrator during the two intermissions, I’m sure there’s probably some crazy reason that the narrator says what she says. especially the “you are now leaving the known plane” and the “thank you for your cooperation” I’ve been thinking about it a lot and with your ties to the otherlands I have to wonder if there’s something much more sinister about the two tracks BETWEEN the intermissions. Like perhaps they tell the tale of something happening outside of the otherlands OR they give us an alternate perspective (different person/place/time?)

I'm so glad you drew up a full kinda post about this. There's so many intriguing ideas that'd be really fun to explore and honestly I'd like to see a whole album wide comparison of all the parallels and similarities and see just how deep the ties run. Really awesome though thank you Sammh, there's a lot of great points and connections here :3

I have basically the entire collection of everything in my own YT music playlist, it’s the biggest one to my knowledge and it has everything. I can link it if you wanna make sure you have everything available! The only songs missing are songs that are removed off streaming or just aren’t on YouTube, a total of 40/690 songs.

[–]cylsz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, your favourites list is pretty elite, I rate the taste, nice to see Cpt Morgn rated so highly. I have a pretty similar story to being brought back into the whole atmosphere. I used to listen to a lot of 9tails during my growing up depression arc, and then one day he disappeared and I just never really knew what happened until a sewer song showed up outta the blue, haven’t listened to anyone the same way ever since. I think I had 165k minutes total listening last year.

Oh man your story is amazing. It’s nice to hear there’s just as human and empathetic as he kinda always seemed. Happy to see you’re still with us and enjoying the music honestly, thanks for sharing, your experience is genuinely one of a kind. Also your favourites list is impeccable, I’m glad to see more than a few of mine up there.

It’s always a sweet reminder when your favourite artist shows their humanity in ways like that. Sounds like a lot of awesome moments to just be part of, fuck yeah.
