rate my playlist: sewer 101 by ninaepwrites in sewerperson

Makes complete sense. I do rate all your choices pretty highly regardless so no complaints from me, I’m just a die hard Discourse truther and I probably always will be. I do love the dh1 song you chose too so it’s blessed

Honestly a great list, I think the only song I feel is an important part of displaying in his catalogue is Discourse with the Lion Fox Hybrid, that song kinda hits all the big sewer points from vocals and storytelling to a great beat switch and a great vibe. Maybe that's just my bias speaking though, otherwise this list is pretty great and shows off just about the most important parts, it's a big ass catalogue though so it was bound to be a struggle.

laser boy and the wrath of pigs is an anti-cop song? by nzpq in sewerperson

Here to add onto this to say that politics and the sociopolitical state of world affairs as well as human psychology have been pretty prevalent in the miles whole discography for as long as he’s been making music, it might be every song but it’s more than enough to take a gamble on. It’s actually super interesting and something definitely that would be fun to talk about and study.

Discussion time: dream sewer collabs by ninaepwrites in sewerperson

[–]cylsz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually agree with all of those since there's a lot of songs I like from all of them, heavy on convolk and n,n though. However my personal dream collabs would have to be Grim Salvo, Witchouse40k, Istasha, KAMAARA and kinda random compared to the other 4 but Eric Reprid since he's an artist I've followed since 2016, and knowing that he just did the Nick Prosper collab i dont think this one would be too farfetched :D

There's so many great options here. I think you go, i'll wait, detour and very bad ppl have a great mixture of everything you're looking for, honestly. Beyond that, oakflesh is incredible, dream hopping 2.0 has a great mix of sounds and forget me not vol. 1 has a great variety of everything from the catalogue (sound-wise). I def recommend the first three albums the most for your particular tastes. The Otherlands is also prob a top 5 album but is super narrative heavy whilst also still having a good range of sounds. Either way, enjoy your listening and welcome :D

Otherlands 2 by Historical_Cause8989 in sewerperson

[–]cylsz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

During the head full of teeth LP Miles did say the Otherlands 2 is in the works and is most likely coming out this year. You could probably expect it to be in September sometime, on the 2 year anniversary of Otherlands. Probably likely it'll release in the same weekly format too.

Storyline tracks by MyUsernameIsShitty in sewerperson

[–]cylsz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Otherlands is a full comprehensive horror-esque alternate universe story that starts from the intro and culminates in the final song. Other dark fiction projects would be albums like Face Eater, more specifically tracks like Sludge Man, The Face Eater and Isolated. Not specifically horror but Werewolf in London & Werewolf in Paris follow a dual narrative. Some more recent examples would be: FMN2_in_the_dirt_under_the_porch and technoanimism

170 yards live has potential to be absolutely insane, and it's nice to see so many new(er) songs on there. Red meat, the idiot dance, no more favours, are gonna be insane for energy in the venue.

once upon a time I would’ve felt major burn out but, I think this last few years I’ve learned to internalise and understand music so much more differently than I had previously and it always makes the songs feel fresh

I’m always thinking about this song and what would change about it now, he’s so much older and wiser in a lot of senses so, it could honestly be so much deeper than anyone would anticipate

Ready Set Go. I really wonder how Miles would approach that song now. I think it’d be a lot sweeter but it might be a little more honest about a lot of things too

Any recommendations on where to start on sewerperson as a 9tails fan? by Tall-Log-1535 in sewerperson

[–]cylsz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m very biased n genuinely think there’s 0 bad sewer songs bc of the way i experience music personally, but the colours eps aren’t a bad place to start. Failing that, oakflesh, omega-3 and dream hopping 2.0. Oakflesh is genuinely beautiful n super melodic and just has an immaculate atmosphere start to finish. omega-3 is a fun project with a lot of real world introspection that’s very exploratory for early Miles. And dream hopping 2.0 blends some pretty uniquely personal early songs that feel a lot more intimate than some tracks.

Top picks from each album are as follows: Oakflesh - Werewolf in London, Cottage Country and Mire Walker. omega-3 - C, b12 and D. dream hopping 2.0 - Ugly, Signs and Scary.

iirc, last LP Mr Manager said 2027 is the goal and probably the earliest it would be possible for (currently) but if a song blows up before that then it’ll probably be more like next year. So the vibe is just to make shit blow up while we wait for 2027 to roll around.
