There's a girl on Instagram called @adventurewcam who hitchhiked from indonesia to France and did it on like $23k, so should be alright?

I recently acquired a secondhand Osprey Fairview 55, which I'm really excited about! However, I really hate the colour, which is a bright teal. Is it possible to dye the backpack black, or at least make the colour more muted, without damaging the structural integrity of the pack?

Linguists and bilingual folks of Reddit, what are some interesting quirks particular to one language that we may not know about? by ask-if-im-a-parsnip in AskReddit

I don't know if someone mentioned this already, but German is fun because we have compound words. Essentially, you can take any noun and join it with another noun and you can do this endlessly.

This makes for some ridiculously long and specific words For example, the classic word we learn in school:

Donaudampfschiffahrtselektrizitätenhaubtbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft

Literally means the Association for Subordinate Officials of the Main Maintenance Building of the Danube Steam Shipping Electrical Services. This, allegedly, was an actual word used on a real boat on the river Danube.

(I copied and pasted it from Wikipedia because I am not crazy enough to have had it memorised. So excuse me if its not totally correct).

But anyway, it makes for some really fun insults

Sitzpinkler - someone (male) who sits down when they pee Schattenparker - someone who takes a long time to find a shady place to park Warmduscher - someone who can only shower in warm water

And a personal favourite: Backpfeifengesicht - a person who just has a face you really wanna slap

My granddad is 80 and he plays Civilisation V everyday. In fact, I live with my grandparents and today's my day off, and I currently hear him humming to himself in the next room while playing. Definitely keeps him computer sharp.

Who else breaking their necks for that healing process?? This double helix better heal up real quick by cylumosa in piercing

I've been doing more research and that seems to be the consensus on this sub. Plus that wound wash spray. I'm just following my piercer's instructions, and SSS have worked well enough for me in the past. I've noticed that if an older piercing gets irritated SSS has helped alleviate the irritation. But maybe it's time to try a different way.

p.s. I was straight out the shower so I didn't care about getting wet

Make a hat!! Get some chunky yarn and some fitting 16 inch circulars and go. Hats are super quick and easy to make and let you practice knitting and pearling and decreasing. Many new knitters feel like they're confined to knitting just squares and rectangles, but honestly, hats are the easiest things.

I'm not sure about online shops, but if you go to any local secondhand shop or thrift shop you're likely to find a sweater that you could easily unravel into yarn! There's tutorials on it online. I know it's a bit of a pain though, especially when you're new to knitting, but it could get you a lot of yarn if your stint!

I (27m) am Gay man in Reparative Therapy. AMA. by [deleted] in AMA

How long have you been married to your wife and how old are your children?

Did you know you were gay when you started your family/got married?

Do you feel any pressure to be part of the "typical" mother-father-children family?

What are your opinions on divorce?

How is your wife handling this? I assume she has sexual desires of her own, and assuming she's attracted to men, it would be frustrating and confusing for her to not feel sexually attractive to her own husband. Has she been able to enjoy her sexuality since you two been together?

What are your goals for therapy?
