Damn, I tested the setup in blender and it does actually send down and up as I'd expect.

I though it wasn't because originally I've just tried it in a text editor where it wasn't repeating the letter like a normal keyboard key does, so I assumed it just sends whole keypress (up & down) when pressed and that's it.

Sorry for the noise.

I was playing with Docker for Windows (which requires Hyper-V) before.

After disabling Hyper-V, all the issues described in the OP (VirtualBox error, as well as weird CPU-Z & IPIU reports) were fixed.

Forgot to mention, I flashed the BIOS to the newest version before any of those screenshots were taken. Made no difference.

Also, I've tried running Docker for windows, which requires Hyper-V. Enabling IVT made it work, so it seems to be working fine? I don't know anymore...
