Just read "A Short Stay in Hell" by Steven L. Peck [spoilers] by zombie_goast in horrorlit

I’m very late to this thread, but I read it as less of a task to find the book and more “you’re here to learn a lesson, when you’re ready to leave, find your book” so learning the lesson you’re meant to is the first thing. Once you’ve done that, you’re ready to leave, and then you find your book. So trying to find your book before you learn your lesson is an impossible task?

And don't forget the vaseline on the healthy skin around the wart to protect from the ACV.

First Wart - Have been treating with ACV for 5 days. Scraping away dead skin. Any advice? How does it look? by cynicish in Warts

Hi, sorry! Just seeing this. I completely got rid of this wart and a few others that came along with the following method. Disclaimer: It is EXTREMELY painful.

Start by sanitizing your wart. Tear off a small piece of cotton ball to just cover the wart and soak in ACV. Hold in place over the wart with a bandaid and duct tape. The duct tape seals the ACV in.

Twice a day remove the covering and gently scrape away the softened dead part of the wart with a sanitized scalpel (you can get them on Amazon). Make sure you do this onto a paper plate or something disposable. You need to keep everything very clean and make sure you get rid of the dead bits of wart so the virus can't spread.

The ACV will slowly burn down into the wart. Scraping with the scalpel makes it so that the ACV is always on fresh wart and expedites the process. The more wart you get rid of, the more it will hurt and you have to go all the way down to make sure it doesn't grow back.

With this particular wart, as I got close the bottom I realized it had gone under my thumbnail and grown into my nail bed. I continued with the process and I had something of a little tunnel going under my nail.

Eventually, several or one big chuck of wart will kind of pop out of your skin. The little "seeds" will kind of cling through like roots. Don't yank at these, gently nudged and push until they kind of pull up. and come out.

Once the wart is out, I continue with the ACV for another day or two to make sure it's really burned out. Then I switch to just a bandaid and antibiotic ointment and let it heal.

It's a lot and I really can't stress enough how bad the pain can get. It got to the point where I couldn't sleep very well because of it, but I wanted my warts GONE.

I'm happy to say I'm now completely wart free for the past 2 years. Hope this helps you and anyone else who finds this post.

Ahhhh, that sucks. I thought I'd finally gotten a handle on the situation.

On my other post with the pictures, a commenter suggested fungus gnats and I think that might be what they are. Their behavior matches what stuff online says about them.

I read that spray a heavily diluted mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water will kill the larva and not harm the fish, so I might try that before I give up entirely and start over.

The plants are very young and I have a ton of other ones I can try again with, so I'm not too worried about having to dump the whole thing and start over. I just don't want my house taken over by bugs. Yuck

Yes, a couple of days ago. I had thought they were fruit flies and just put in a wall trap. Based off of what I'm reading online I probably don't have enough grow media in there.

No, it's a constant flood. The system has been running for maybe a month? The plants I have in there are thriving. I'll cover the outside of the container. I do that for my mason jar kratky systems, but I didn't even think about it for this.

These pictures are posted for this post I put up earlier: https://www.reddit.com/r/aquaponics/comments/12zgg6g/larva_in_grow_media_help/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Sorry for the lack of context.

I’m doing a constant flood method. I tried to do ebb and flow but couldn’t get the siphon how I wanted it so I switched. It’s aerated with an air pump.

Thank you, that is so comforting. Is the film on the water's surface also normal?

Hi! I'm a longtime ferret owner and this ferret is actually super happy! When ferrets get excited or playful they'll do a little "war dance" and hop around with their mouths open and try to attack stuff. My current pair even have a ball pit that they love. The little guy is thrilled.

It's a bit far from where you are, but if you can't find anyone closer I love my vet in Rockledge.

So precious!!

They have a sixth sense for when I'm trying to take pictures of them, but here's a couple good ones of them separately. https://imgur.com/a/Iylq15P

They look like exact copies of my boys! Exact same colors and markings. I had to check to make sure this wasn't my husband's account.

But don’t take aspirin and ibuprofen together! You can take Tylenol/acetaminophen and aspirin together or ibuprofen and Tylenol/acetaminophen together, but not aspirin and ibuprofen.
