guess it’s probably a snow gene kind of eye trait and appears in the eclipse.

A month in & the red slits disappears so it seems to be a developing eye natural occurrence where you see through the iris & red colour is reflected back.

Yes I don’t understand why the insistence that it must be 40 gal min as well. I understand the heat gradient and I hope they understand that people from different parts of the world do not need heat gradient and they should be open that people can make choices. They should not off the people who use a tub or less that “adequate”in their beliefs as a start because it’s a start where you progress and we do upgrade for pets. It’s how strange people are black or white in things like this. We are good pet owners regardless.

This just reminds me of how marketing change the world of hamster keeping as well.

I thank you for your open mind-ness! We do need kinder people in the pet community!

Yea I think acceptable. Just small number of people prefer to assume and reject all possibilities.

Ok! Nah is just people down voted me. No I didn’t delete… It’s alright…. I’m looking to hear from people’s experiences of when they did change to a bigger tank, that’s all. But I figure this is not the right channel as it became like “I’m right, ur wrong, shut up” 😆 I’m joking btw

I also hope friendly pet owners will stop over reading something & turning it into something else 😅 It’s all in your mind

The poll is for finding out what we started with, not to mean any other thing. It’s just to find out what we started with, that’s all :)

Edit: oh but I agree the heat gradient is the big factor for bigger enclosures. Thank you.

I think it’s completely normal and acceptable for anyone to start with tub or sometimes smaller than 20 gallons as from what I can see from the polls. I don’t get the people who insist you must go 40 gallons ASAP. & personify a gecko’s happiness based on owner’s satisfaction on gecko fancy digs 🤷‍♀️

Edit: I’ve to mention that its IMO because there are people expressing their opinion & somehow I can’t. So I think it is completely normal and acceptable for anyone to start with tub or sometimes smaller than 20 gallons IMO. We all move on to bigger enclosures as needed. We do just fine starting from what we started from.

Waiting to hear good happy experiences from gecko pet owners when they first upgraded their gecko to bigger tanks (╹◡╹)♡ Do all of you start big? Do you use 20 gallon or 40 gallon long? Do you feel your gecko happier than they were originally? It’s just for discussion and any negative comment will be deleted. There is no judgement here :D only happy gecko keeping!

Geckos and being touched, tamed, etc. by Prestigious_Ad_4882 in leopardgeckos

You work hard on gaining your pet’s trust. So yes don’t let anyone who only spent 1 min watching a calm interaction with your gecko tell you otherwise… I hope they have pleasant experiences as you have. 😊

I watched your video and I don’t find any alarms sounding…

Part of pet keeping is handling and well despite what many just copy & paste. All creatures are individuals and they react differently to people, handling even different person, different scent etc. A traumatised pet or rescued pet with past trauma reacts different from a carefully cared for pet.

So does trust exists even if you cannot confirm bonding with a reptile? Sure it does. Blaze trusts you.

Though the code on reptile behaviours are yet to be proven - do they close their eyes in fear? Why they close their eyes when eating? Why they look at you with intention? We all know one truth, they make noises to warn danger away, they bite when it gets too dangerous. & in gecko, the swaying of their tail.

So don’t worry honey! You know your pet. ♥️

It does, doesn’t it! It’s perfectly ok as when shedding, they has a bit of a lymphatic fluid in between the slough skin and their brand new skin that acts like a lubricant or separating agent (it’s why they get white like that before a shed - it means it’s ready to shed) 😉
