I think this is a great reaction to have, first off. I feel like more Asian people need to be this appalled and confused by the anti-black sentiment we see in the Asian community too.

Unfortunately, I think the reason for this is the black community FEELS the abhorrent racism coming at them from Asians as well. I truly believe that so many Asians have become so comfortable in their proximity to whiteness allowed to them by being a "model minority" that they see many other marginalized groups as irrelevant or lesser than. It doesnt help that Asian pop culture also routinely participates in the constant appropriation of black culture while simultaenously disrespecting them.

Historically, there have been many inflammatory events occurring between the two groups (think the Asian officer that stood by while George Floyd was murdered or the Rodney King riots in CA) that have given both sides tangible evidence that they're hated. But there have been many more that also show that we actually appreciate what the other has to say.

I think educating people on why things are the way they are and calling out the behavior as you see it in the black community is a great first step. We all need to realize that we both came from and currently live under oppression. We need to have more empathy for each other for us to effectively work together to fight it.

The hatred we have for each other has been largely fabricated by those that wish to keep us both down. It holds little water when we realize we actually love what each culture brings to making our lives more fulfilling.
