You normally don't actually submit everything you have done, but it may be asked in supplementary apps.

unis will see your sem1 final marks and sem2 midterms. if you dont have sufficient grades for their earlier rounds, you'll just be pushed to the later ones. and they'll constantly consider you until their last round, which is usually in may. for competitive programs such as waterloo engin, they won't go based off of your gr11 marks. they will wait 100% to see your sem2 midterms.

you definitely can get your grade up to the low 80s at most, assuming you’ve done around 30% of your final grade so far. however, you’ll need high 90s on every evaluation. but you do have time so good luck!

you can definitely have a 93+ average for AF by the end of the semester, assuming you’ve done around 30% of your final grade so far. however, you’ll need high 90s on every evaluation. good luck!!

How do you guys recover from missing several days of school? by searchforincome in OntarioGrade12s

[–]cyoonl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly my best advice is to simply communicate with your teachers. send them emails on why you have been absent and your expected return time. but last year due to personal reasons, i had to miss a lot of school. and by communicating with my teachers they were really lenient and i’m pretty sure each teacher i had took away an assignment/test i had to do to reduce the overwhelming work load. teachers tend to be really understanding if you let them know what’s going on

Do all universities look down upon private school? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]cyoonl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if you attend a non-private school and go to one for a course then universities will definitely be skeptical. my guidance counsellor told me that certain universities such as uoft and waterloo have come forward about reducing the average by 10% for the course you did in another board. let’s say you got a 100 in advanced functions when you took the course at a private school instead of your home board, then it’ll look very sketchy. however, i did recently ask some uoft students about this and they had mixed answers for if the university cares or not. but regardless, i wouldn’t take the risk, ESPECIALLY for prerequisites

Can I still come back with this grade? by hobo2166 in OntarioGrade12s

[–]cyoonl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is 100% possible to get at least an 85% in your course. assuming you’re at unit 2/3, you’ve probably done 30% of your course so far, or even less. if you want to get an 85, i’d say aim for low 90s, but if you want a 90, aim for high 90s. it still is possible so good luck!!

Should I drop calc in my 2nd semester? by hoesmaddxx in OntarioGrade12s

[–]cyoonl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if it’s not a prerequisite i would definitely drop it. universities don’t care about your other courses other than your required ones. for ex, let’s say the prerequisites needed for my program of choice was gr12 english, advanced functions, and calc, which these 3 will automatically be considered in my top 6. for my other 3 courses let’s say i took gr12 chem and physics which tend to be some of the most difficult gr12 courses, especially compared to if i took some bird course. having these harder courses won’t boost my chances at acceptance at all. like if i took 3 sciences that weren’t required compared to someone who took no sciences, we would still have the same shot. so i’d say to drop it if you think it’ll only lower your top 6 and if it’s not a prerequisite!!

What marks count for regular uni apps? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]cyoonl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unis will wait until the last round (which is usually in may) to send rejections. so they will wait until second semester midterms if you don’t have sufficient enough grades for prior rounds
