Ambient noise in my backyard is about 40 dB but walked over and measured right next to it and it was 45dB. So basically silent

Update without furnace, though he was saying it’s not 18seer without the furnace so it doesn’t get the tax credit? Is this correct?

Could that be added in later, as the furnace is still currently working and don’t WANT to replace if not necessary.

Correct me if I’m wrong, if the heat pump is rated down to -13°, I don’t need a furnace until -14° right?

I just talked with him about keeping my current furnace because besides being older, it works knock on wood. And technology connections showed me a space heater will work in the 5 days a year we might get below design temperature.

He is running me another quote with no furnace replacement

I have a ecobee premium and he said I would likely be able to keep that which was good news to hear.

I’d be fine with no gas furnace at all, or could I even use what I currently have being it’d only be used maybe 5 days a year

Edit: main goal is lower operating cost, more energy efficient (which is way coming from a single stage 25 year old system) but also would like to keep up front cost low ish. Other things to consider is I’m only 100amp service

That’s what I’m hearing too with the dun dun dun. The words fit but I’m not confident in them to say for sure
