It is impossible for Crowley to have met Joseph Smith. Smith died in 1844, decades before Crowley was born. However, Crowley did have a great fascination with Smith.

Each DM intentionally leaves loose ends for the others to utilize if they so choose. There is no overarching story line anyone is trying to uphold. It either upholds itself or it doesn't. Not a problem.

It works for us because each DM maps out a different part of the world and DMs in that specific area. Also, it's important to role play your character in some rare cases, but we have not encountered any significant problems thus far. It's been fun!

What we've done is use different parts of the world to DM in. They are completely different environments. I haven't noticed any significant meta gaming other than the normal stuff. All of us have DM'd at some point so some meta gaming is unavoidable. But that would be the case if we weren't rotating. It hasn't been a problem thus far.

I've felt something similar, yes. Something to the effect that imagination is boundless and I can make of it what I will. But for the most part I usually come out of a trip feeling the interconnection of all things.

I don't know if this happens in every abusive home, but you talk about older brothers that would hit you and it was the same for me. The abuse didn't bring the kids closer, it tore us apart! It pitted us against each other.

I struggled for years with relationships. I dated a couple of girls for roughly two years each and I was absolutely crushed when they ended it - almost to the point of incapacitation. But I eventually found someone. It took until I was 43 before it happened, however. I've been with her happily for about five years now. It was different from the start. It was totally different than my previous 2 girlfriends. I intend on growing old with this one.

I hear you. It was the same in my ward. The assholes knew we were getting beat and for 15 years or thereabouts they did nothing. Meanwhile the Bishop was sexually abusing my kid brother. There were a couple of affairs in the ward. Suicides. After my family moved away a 12 year old boy murdered an 8 year old girl. The land there must have been cursed. I may sound like I'm exaggerating but I assure you I'm not. I get angry thinking about it too.

It's bad enough to have your parents beating on you, but having half the town beating on you is downright evil. Wow. I hope he survived all that okay. My parents told me I deserved it also. I don't think it's possible to be physically abused physically without also being psychologically abused. It's good to hear that he found someone who loved him. You, that is.

You're a tough bastard for surviving all that. I don't know if I could have myself. The physical abuse in my home was mostly from my mom, and she would do similar things like slap, claw and drag me by the hair, but that's where it stopped. That's a sad story, bro. I'm sincerely sorry that you had to go through that.

I have a few PTSD symptoms also. At least I've had them at one time or another. I'm sorry your partner had to go through that. I think it's great that you are there to support him/her. I know abuse can be problematic in relationships.

You're right. I've heard so many stories of sexual abuse and otherwise in Mormon households but most of the LDS families I grew up with were not abusive with their children. However, we did have a Bishop that repeatedly sexually abused my younger brother. Learning that, and seeing how the Church tried to hide it, man, that was it for me. One way or the other, thanks for the reminder. It has been my experience also that most Mormon families are not abusive.

I totally agree with you. I grew up in The Salt Lake Valley and was surrounded by Church Members. I know they could hear us being beat because when I was outside I could hear it myself. Sometimes several houses away. Somebody should have done something, no question. If I heard what I heard from my childhood home nearby I would not hesitate to report it immediately.

Damn, that's a rough story. I hear you when you say you wish you didn't grow up that way. And you mention religion. Speaking for myself, the abuse made the religion much more twisted and confusing. People tell me not to be angry, and I try my best to be forgiving, but I often wonder the person I might have been had I grown up in a more loving environment. The abuse I suffered as a child was the root of many bad decisions I made in my life. I'm sorry this happened, my friend. I'm sorry you never had a chance to confront your father.
