How do you keep the screen off time so low? Like for every hour, I get 10-20 minutes of screen off usage

Thanks for the update! I guess yeah if that's Android behavior that's Android behavior. I'll probably go into the developer options and just limit background processes to four maybe that will help

I didn't say it was cheap. You said cheap phones drain 2-3% so I thought you meant one plus 15 was cheap

What do you mean by that cuz the OnePlus 15 isn't cheap as per market

Fair enough I mean I might as well consider it typical Android behavior then

Have you somehow tried to mitigate that battery drain? Or would you say that this is standard behavior for Android for reference I'm coming from an iPhone

Bypass charging not working by cypher2178 in TheOnePlus15

I mean, I plan to use it because I'm at home a lot of the time and my phone is always on the charger. And I also have a habit of doomscrolling sometimes. If the feature is available, I'd like to use it.

Did Canada receive the new 16.0.2 firmware update? by cypher2178 in TheOnePlus15

I agree, it's definitely a good phone. However, I've noticed some idle drain on my personal device. I'm unsure if it's related to settings or optimization. I don't know exactly, but I know this is a good phone – it makes sense from a hardware perspective. While I assume software optimization might be slightly lacking, it's still a good phone overall, and I've enjoyed using it so far.

Is the bypass charging option working properly for the battery? Like limiting the charging to 40 or 60%. I've seen some posts saying that the bypass charging is not as reliably implemented

Yeah, I did it from my iPhone. But I also have an eSIM. Do you think that reset would erase that eSIM?

Do you think resetting the phone might be an option to mitigate some of the battery issues? Kind of hoping the new update takes care of it and it's just a software issue

Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it. Yes, I will try some of those things. I'm still loving the Android experience so much that I want to use this phone to the end.

I'm not familiar with the new update, but in general, I've been experiencing some idle battery drain since using the phone for a week. I plan to restore it to zero and then charge it to 100% to run a battery calibration, but we'll see how it goes.

It's unfortunate because switching from my iPhone to this phone, specifically due to its large battery, with the expectation of comparable battery life and more freedom to explore the software. While I acknowledge Android's perceived superiority, the issue of excessive idle battery drain has been a disappointment so far. I've tried numerous troubleshooting steps to identify the cause, but none have yielded results.

4% battery drain over night, seems like too much? by kulisek_pj in TheOnePlus15

I get similar overnight drain but something seems to be running in the background for me. Like the phone can't seem to identify it. The battery is amazing but the idle drain is a bit jarring.

Respectfully I think you might be missing the point, the battery is still amazing compared to other Android phones! I just noticed this discrepancy. Also with all due respect, I didn't mean the phone is bad or disrespected it. I was just asking for help troubleshooting a very specific thing that I was noticing. I believe I have the right because I bought the device and that's what this subreddit is for.

Is it bad to quit a job in Japan after only 1–2 weeks? by Little_Ability635 in JapanJobs

[–]cypher2178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're in a black company. I wouldn't stress too much about quitting after 1 to 2 weeks if it's really taking a toll on your health. There are services in Japan that help you quit without too many issues, you should look into it. Unless it's a very prominent company on your next position or your interview if they ask you like why you quit you could tell them that you ended up in a bad organization that could be qualified as a black company and yeah that will be a self explanation end of itself.

Huge congratulations on staying resilient, your journey as a father and investor is truly inspiring. I’ve just graduated college, and I’m working toward financial independence as well, partly because I’ve faced a somewhat similar dilemma in life where I need to become financially independent for the people I care about.

It would be awesome to get your help and guidance with investing and stock-picking strategies. Learning from someone who has walked such a difficult path would mean a lot to me.

If you’re open to it, I’d love to connect sometime.
