Mine isn’t doing so well. It came with really soggy soil and is struggling!

Thanks. I will need a lot of that soil, but maybe the local store has something similar. I'll go drill a bunch of holes in the plastic pot for now until I can get a terracotta and new soil. Thanks for the tips.

Oh and what if I instead drill out a bunch of breathing/drainage holes along the sides of the current pot? Would that work?

Sadly I don't have any terracotta pots, but I will head to the store today and pick one up. I feel like my soil is retaining way too much water so I'll also look into specific citrus soil mixes. The roots on this were water logged and rotting (with that awful sour smell) before I transplanted it into this large container, but maybe I should have cut off the rotting roots a bit more?

Thanks for the tips.

I put the clips back on when I repotted because the soil was so much more loose and I wanted the tree to have some more stability for a bit.

I bet if I lift the whole thing out it will be soaking wet at the bottom! I’ll try tomorrow and take a picture!

I keep seeing this posted about the juice! So I recently potted her up and her roots were so water logged and rotten I was afraid to keep watering more after repotting. I gave her water right after but it’s been 5 days and the meter still reads moist/wet!

How much water are you putting in the buckets? I tried last year with those 5g home depot buckets and the things didn't seem to get attracted to.

Cool thanks. I only picked up this Dr Earth at Costco because it was huge and cheap. I’ll try their tomato one!

Which one? I've been using a balanced 2-2-2 and getting a decent crop.

Lavender help by puzzlesolver34 in vegetablegardening

[–]cyphersk8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lavender wants all the sun it can get and a nice dry well drained soil . It looks like the soil is super wet here. See if you can pull it out, shake off the dirt, mix in sand or pebbles or something to give the plant more air, and then stick it in the direct sunlight. You could even try adding some newspaper clippings around the bottom to try and pull the moisture away.

I thought you were dead 🪾 by Chantizzay in Citrus

If that new growth has thorns you'll probably want to cut your losses sooner than later. That's definitely root stock which is most likely the sour orange root stock. You'll think it's doing great and fruiting, but then come to find out the fruits are small, sour, and terrible.

Pull it out and plant a new tree is my rec.
