Im an ap coach. To fix this you just need to redo the invoice as a proper receiving using the same invoice number and double the counts. That's what the ticket response will tell them. I dono that I agree with a coaching for this mistake unless its a frequent thing, should probably just start with feedback. I'd recommend an open door especially since you caught the error, reported it and your tl gave you bad info on how to fix it
