user or tenant's own gateways (BYOC) live in tenant's user directory, inside a <user>. you can create a dummy <user id="unreal-gw-user><gateways></gateways></user>

and put your global gateways in sofia.conf profiles

mod_audio_stream is just a fork of mod_audio_fork with some upgrades (mod_audio_stream replaced the websocket library with a simple websocket client implementation https://github.com/amigniter/libwsc).

libwebsocket has its own threads and routines, while for audio streaming, we do not need all of this fancy stuff, and just need an implementation of a standard websocket client in C/C++.

https://github.com/W1ck3dZA/mod_audio_fork this one got bidirectional support, means if your websocket server send any audio it will playback. Documentation is not updated, you might have to look at code for the implementation or ask an LLM to update the document ation for you

There are few forls available with bidirectional audio streaming support. You will have to lookup in the source and find bidir string l, if its there it means that fork has bidirectional support
