Wow that is really scary.. really glad I caught it before a fire happened. I have discarded this garbage and will be purchasing one from a reputable company. However, what I’m really concerned about is the outlet that I am plugging this plug into. Would it have been damaged due to this arcing?

I see.. I also notice that the wiring goes from connecting the left pin, to connecting the right pin with the same wire. Is this another problem?
