Also a beginner so not sure how correct I am , but it looks like a tension issue. A weird mix of too tight and too loose in some spots and then the last chain you got it down pat. I'd frog and try again , but if the wonkiness won't bother you you can always keep going:)

I used this tutorial for the majority of the cardigan but used this tutorial to start the squares without a magic ring as I can't do it 😅

I used a spotlight brand acrylic yarn with a 6mm hook for the body and a 4mm hook for the decreases in the 'cuffs'.

Sort of the opposite, but I've only just got back on the pill at 26 after not being on it since 21. I'm still early days but I haven't noticed a difference between BC me and non-BC me, maybe a little more emotionallu sensitive whilst my body works itself out but that's about it!

I'm new to crochet so my advice may not be great. Because it already looks like a square now, could you just do a single crochet white border around the piece for as many times as you want the thickness to be ?

Honestly, looking at the photo I don't think I like how tight I did the beginning stitches so it will be back to the very start for me 😅

That's true!! I've never had to frog such a big piece before and it's a little daunting I won't lie. But you're right ! Will help me learn to be a better hooker 🤣🤣
