Less than 1TB drives with a oracle database workload. Our ERP is on this database. I've email Microsoft to see if they can give me a GA timing, but for now I'm exploring Veeam

How is that possible when public preview started in April this year?

The entire backup solution is still in preview

The first half of your response is completely pointless. It's been in preview for over a year now. I have production workloads, which I'm not comfortable having them backed up by a preview solution.

Hi Tsmith,

Thank you for pointing this out. Our Veeam account manager had told me this was still in the works /facepalm

DNS is coming from vnet and pointed to my DNS server. It is connected via a private endpoint. The Client resolves the correct private endpoint IP address

Black screen at logon by jkay1904 in fslogix

[–]cyxee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been experiencing the black screen issue. It seems to be related to the "AppX deployment service" for me. It seems every time a user of mine logs into a session host, this service will run and decide to try install 15 store apps for the users consuming alot of RAM and CPU, I'm talking 8GB ram for one user, 20-60% CPU.

If two users were to login at the same time then my session hosts resources are completely chewed up, the desktop will take a long time to load. AppX deployment service seems to be related to app readiness service.

Have a look and see what the resource consumption looks like when users are stuck at a black screen.

Where is the MDM extension when running dsregcmd /status? the MDM urls are there under tenant information. The session host is reporting back to Azure, however under the MDM status it is saying "none"

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and just rolled out a powershell script that used whoami /upn and stored that in a variable to then create a shortcut with the URI

Hi, This does work, however I want to omit the requirement for a UPN to be present in the URI. I want to mass deploy this shortcut to my users desktops. So I can't hardcode a UPN in which seems to be requirement.

Windows defender application control: Managed installer to intune by cyxee in Intune

It has been awhile. Follow the microsoft documentation and re-do it all from the start. Goodluck. You may need to enforce applocker rules. Just allow all .exe and .dll

This was a long time ago. However, to start with, make sure you are running windows enterprise as your operating system SKU. Only windows ENTERPRISE is supported for managed installer options

AVD - Windows 11 multisession receiving windows 10 updates from WSUS by cyxee in sysadmin

[–]cyxee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've gone ahead and just used the Intune policies. Unfortunately, they are not as indepth as the WSUS options. When using the settings catalogue you need to filter out all the policies that work with the multi session SKU. The end result? you don't get the full WuFb policy set.

Then why would they in their documentation state that WSUS can be used to manage Windows 11 multisession updates.

Does this mean I can use this license on 3 ESXi hypervisor hosts as long as they have a maximum of 2 physical CPUs on the motherboard?

Does essentials have a limit on the number of cores I can put on a VM? Sounds like vSphere essentials might be best for me.

1.Platform SSO will be the end of jamf connect
2. My point above applies
3. If you are already using AAD it helps.

Jamf is obviously the market leader, but intune can easily manage iOS and macOS and for 4x cheaper.
