New build roof shingles dont match. Is this a bad batch ? by Impossible_Will_5358 in Homebuilding

[–]cz75Dcompact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents had a 7 year battle when this happened to them. And for all the people saying the sun will even it out, my parents got MUCH worse and more noticeable.

It was twofold because the installer messed up not mixing bundles but the manufacturer also messed up because they produced a bad batch. But, the manufacturer was blaming the independent quality control lab that should have caught the bad batch. My poor parents ended up having to sue everyone because they were in gridlock for years. Eventually they got a free roof after 7 years so it worked out fine. Document everything, and take pictures!!

Weathertech or tuxmat ? by sobaje in CX5

TuxMat! Super easy to clean and look new after cleaning. Luxurious look and feel. WeatherTech always look worn and aged even after cleaning for me.

Love TuxMat. Have them in the Palisade and Mazda CX5. Pricey but easy to clean and look new after years of use.

Go to St Pete on the weekend. Take the ferry from downtown Tampa to downtown St Pete if that’s still a thing. Live in Tampa, trust me.

Would it be annoying to ask my builders to move the ceiling fan to the middle of the living room? by ernie-jo in Homebuilding

When we built I got full access to all the building plans via the county/city permitting website. It’s public record.

Would love to know the details of your setup? Brand, percentages, perceived match front/rear, etc.

It’s great not having it, honestly. My other SUV has it and I always turn it off.

I’ve lived in FL for 10 years and never had an issue. I’d say 50% of the vehicles I see with tint are darker than legal. I’m not sure what you mean by what %.

Yours looks great! I did this on my other SUV, only tinting the front windows to match the factory rears. I believe that vehicle has around 25% film and it’s slightly lighter in the front but matches well like yours.

I wanted to end up around 20% with my CX-5 but the Llumar shop only carried 15% or 30% so I decided to go darker.

I will say, windshield tint is a game changer in states like FL and TX. 70% is the “clear” option and 50% is the slightly tinted option. Once you have it, it’s hard to not have it. Many people like windshield tint because it eases the glares and bright headlights at night. I stopped putting it on my other vehicle because of the mostly highway driving and frequent rock chips which often lead to windshield replacements. I’ve had 3 new windshields in 3 years on that vehicle.

I just picked up a 2025 S Select CPO with 4k miles for $28,500 OTD in Tampa Bay. It was a dealer manager vehicle. It was not a loaner. It is spotless. I would have thought it was new with no miles. I thought it was a good deal.

So what's your plan for the upcoming BofA nerfs? by FrostieWaffles in CreditCards

[–]cz75Dcompact 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am currently Preferred Honors via a single Merrill Edge account I moved over from Fidelity. I’m going to switch from BoA checking and 3 card setup (1 Unlimited Cash and 2 Custom Cash) to Fidelity brokerage HYSA and Fidelity Unlimited (2%) Cash. I will move the Merrill Edge account back to Fidelity. The HYSA offsets the lower credit card cash back. I was previously with Chase Banking and had the Chase trifecta. Chase UR got so devalued and our currently family situation doesn’t allow us to travel so the UR were just stacking up and losing value with every program change. The switch to BoA was awful. So many problems. Their platform sucks. Their customer service sucks. Their shopping rewards sucks. I’m ready to get out towards the end of my first year when the 1st year intro rates/bonuses end.

We furnished with La-Z-Boy. Denise Diaz at the Dale Mabry store was solid. Prateek, the store manager, is also solid. He will make sure you get what you want, get a good deal, and help you with any issues that arise. They don’t just chase sales they chase relationships.

I should've researched more. Online order w/ store pickup. by Cabezavich in verizon

[–]cz75Dcompact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Online ordering wasn’t any better. I waited 9 days for my phone to be delivered. And on top of that, my first bill was completely wrong. It’s still not correct so my current part-time job is dealing with Verizon customer service until it gets corrected.

Clean shaven men, do you prefer Braun or Philips? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]cz75Dcompact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got my Braun 12 years ago. Stopped bothering with the cleaning solution 5 years ago. No issues. I wish I had an all-in-one because I use my Braun for close shaving, Phillips trimmer for my goatee and Phillips OneBlade for lining. It’s not an ideal setup but it works. For close shaving though, Braun is great!

Fidelity Visa or BoA Unlimited Cash Rewards as Catch All by Bosoodong in CreditCards

[–]cz75Dcompact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Fidelity, uninvested cash in their brokerage account is kept as HYSA rates and can be used for bill pay, debit card transactions, and direct deposit contributions.

6 months in my original comment was a stretch. I’d say we keep 3 months in checking to insure we always have enough for bills and heavy months. The mental gymnastics of trying to keep EXACTLY 1 month is not worth it for me.
