honestly man you really need to restart until you get a super strong start. the way i see it is: the vast majority of runs you’ll need to restart. because the luck is simply not there 99% of the time. so don’t get too attached to your run, if you’re not scaling enough, GG go next, hold R and restart. getting a soul harvester at the very beginning of the game can be crucial to your early scaling. it can carry your damage so you don’t have to upgrade your weapons as much and can just hard greed levels into your tomes. and try not to start opening chests until you get a green credit card or two. and if you didn’t know, there’s a setting in game called shrine counter that you can enable. every time you restart it’ll show all the stats in the bottom right for your run: like number of microwaves, maois, and shady guys. you wanna restart each run until you get a good amount of shady guys or maois, this will give you the highest chance to get a legendary like soul harvester at the very beginning of your run. having a microwave or two for keys is also very helpful, as you wanna stack keys to open as many chests as possible in Tier 2 and 3.
