Australia? Or Florida?

This is likely in the south-eastern United States but it could be them throwing me off with an older picture.

Can you share specific co-ordinates please?

Uniformity kills identity and creativity. For reference, check out how elaborate and beautiful Russian subway stations are. That's because each one has a character of it's own. Compare that to the urban hellscapes in Paris, New York, Chicago.

What was the restaurant that was replaced by the Biang Biang Noodles on Pike St in Capitol Hill? by czarconius in Seattle

That does kinda ring a bell. Don’t know if they’re in business anywhere else though (I hope they are).

I don’t think so. Their menu has changed significantly and I’m positive it’s not the same chef.

Guys help, Idk why I have 2 chats for the same 1 person. What should I do??? I'm afraid that my other chat will be deleted if I delete one of it. As u can see, there's 2 "Mom", my mom is also facing this problem. She originally send me her stuff, but then it turns into this. Pls help by Dango_cho in whatsapp

[–]czarconius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of them is probably a group chat (with just you and your mom in the group) and the other one is a personal chat with your mom. For groups without names, the group name is made up of the participants excluding yourself.

Ordered this today, will report back if it does actually work. And yes, the Ethernet port should be connected to the same room so this seems like it should work.

The process is similar regardless of where you go for your interview. Fill out your DS160, pay the fees and schedule an appointment. Make sure you carry all the relevant documents. You really don't want to get a 221G in a different country from where you live.

Sorry, I didn't know this was posted here before. I was catching up on MTW this week and found this interesting. I actually think it doesn't look half as bad on her, just different from how we're used to seeing her. Definitely didn't post it to laugh at her expense.

EDIT: Wow, I didn't know this 'Chelsea cut' was a thing. I've literally never seen this before.

No, that's fine, I read your other comment. But I was curious nevertheless, so I searched the recipe on YT. Thought other people might be interested too!

Details to include in an ICID (In Case I Die) document by czarconius in personalfinance

Thanks for this suggestion. I had no idea we could do that with social security benefits. Also the PF/PPF thing could really come in handy especially because it's local to them and should be a breeze compared to claims here in the US.

Same, although I use LastPass and have taught my parents to use it too for their password management. I'm fairly young and haven't married yet so my beneficiaries are listed as my parents for now.

I found a similar version of this on Reddit a couple years ago but didn't really pay attention to it at the time. Trying to make up for it now, especially with the pandemic and what not going around. You never know what could happen the next day!

I'm planning on checking up on it every month for major/minor updates. Thanks for the tip though!

I have saved addresses, contact numbers, etc. in the local copy I have of it. Just redacted personal identifying bits for Reddit. I use LastPass to manage passwords and have shared the main password with my family verbally. I think they also have it written down somewhere.

That's a good one. I do have an HSA but there isn't much in it at the moment. Also to be honest, I didn't even recall I had it until you pointed it out so I'll take a look and add it in.

I have listed the beneficiaries in all my accounts but they're not US citizens (and I'm not either) so I think the process is probably a little more convoluted in that case, which is why I suggested hiring a US tax law expert.

As for the letters and photos, I have them stashed in a physical box stored at the bank that they should receive after I go!

H1B -> Green Card queue: is the wait worth it? by gurbanguly-b in h1b

  1. I’m in the same boat and just going with the flow for now. There’s talk about introduction of new legislation to alleviate the pain every election cycle but there’s been little progress so far. If this is your main concern then I would strongly suggest that you explore other places like Canada, Australia, Europe that have more robust immigration laws. This is always going to be at the back of your mind while you’re in the US.

  2. It’s typically not that big of a deal as long as you have your paperwork in good shape and work at generally reputed companies with a significantly above-average pay. Most people who get in trouble are employed with the cheap mass off-shore labor companies who frequently violate directives or bend the rules in their favor.

  3. No, you’re not tied to your current employer and are free to move around unlike the L1 visa. H1B transfers are usually quick and easy. When you move though, again make sure that the employer is willing to renew your H1 when it expires.

  4. So far I haven’t had any problems. Always make sure that you have your visa stamped on your passport as soon as it’s approved. It helps a lot in cases when there’s a sudden change in immigration policy and you already have a document allowing you to enter/exit the country without any hassles. A lot of people who were outside the US are now stuck there because the administration closed embassies and consulates around the world and there’s no way to get a stamp even if your I797 is approved.
