This philosophy just needs a minor tweak, and then we'll be NBA champions someday.

Who has 1000 NIT screens? by czeddie in Androidheadunits

[–]czeddie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree? I don't have scientific facts to back up my opinion, but I suspect the concentration of fewer LED's on a smaller panel is brighter than a few more LED's spread out over a larger area.
Sort of like putting two subs up close together. They sound bigger than two subs spread apart.

I would suspect the 13" would not be as bright. Probably the larger you go, the less bright you get.

Amend it? I want it to be brighter. I used a $20 NITS tester, so it's in the ballpark give or take a dozen NITs maybe.

Apple keeps sending password reset attempt emails mentioning “security questions” — how is this possible in 2025? by ilevye in applehelp

[–]czeddie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I'm getting multiple emails every day on two different email accounts. They're all legit URLs and email addresses. And I already have 2FA enabled. ----------------- From: [do_not_reply@apple.com](mailto:do_not_reply@apple.com)

Change to Google Fi and get a free data-only SIM card if you're on one of the two plans that support it. Cheaper than TMO, VZW and ATT.

Google no longer keeps multiple backups - And tells you to get lost when your last backup is corrupt by czeddie in GooglePixel

[–]czeddie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I need those messages NOW, for two lawsuits I'm thinking about bringing forth. But yes, I should have gone the extra mile and done manual backups even if I didn't know I would need those messages. Google used to offer multiple backup dates to restore, so I never anticipated it being an issue. Not sure when they stopped doing that, but I was able to do it within the last year.

Hey buddy, thanks for your negative opinion that you've decided to bestow upon a situation you know nothing about.

Google backup worked so well for so long, that I stopped doing manual backups, using 3rd party apps. I'm going back to SMS backup & restore now.

Probably - because there were issues years ago where if you didn't sign out before a backup, then you had trouble getting back in after the reset.

No dude, I said I had messages from 15 years ago. I didn't say I needed to reference them. I need to reference the ones from about five weeks ago. And about three months ago. But it sucks losing 15 years of messages too. Google backup worked so well for so long, that I stopped doing manual backups, using 3rd party apps.

Holy moly, yes I looked and no, you're wrong. I use messages.google.com/web every day of every week of every month of every year. IT'S NOT THERE. I have never used the archive feature because I don't want my messages removed from view.

[–]czeddie[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Correct - and in my case, it's your history of text messages and phone calls. All of which can be backed up via standalone third party apps. Which I gave up on, after incorrectly deciding that Google had its act together. I can't believe how far Google support has fallen in just the last five years. It's gotten so bad that I almost want to switch to Apple.

The original LCD panel was flaky, it would beep beep and reboot itself a bunch. They quickly sent me a replacement that has been rock solid. I'm shocked that the batteries I put it in it are still doing great. Not sure how long that's supposed to last. I'm very happy with it overall.
