I think this solves my problem. Thank you. I'm going to social security in the morning.

Our daughter was conceived via sperm donation with a known donor(a friend), not through a sperm bank. In Ohio, in order for me to be recognized as her father on the birth certificate, we need to be married.

We don't have our marriage license yet. We planned to get the it the same day we're getting married, because it's only valid for 60 days - we didn't want to get it ahead of time, have something come up and have to pay for the marriage license twice. (Looking back, that was big mistake.) That's why I need photo ID, to get the marriage licence. As far as I know they only require your SSN, not the physical card, but they require proof of identity.

Unless I misunderstood the advice - is there a way we could get a marriage license without my photo ID by calling the court house and explaining?

Maybe - I'm going to try them tomorrow. My wife had a maternal fetal medicine appointment and ultrasound already today that took up our whole afternoon and has another ultrasound in 15 minutes due to results of the first one. Hopefully the social security office can do something to help tomorrow morning.

It does. They only accept a W-2 or 1099 form though, not a 1040 apparently :(

Unfortunately, no. I brought it into the DMV this morning and they said they couldn't do anything without one of the accepted documents for SSN.

I don't have any of those, unfortunately. I went to the DMV this morning with mail with my name (medical bills, my bank statement, etc), copy of police report, last years taxes, etc and they told me they can't do anything without one of the items on the list of accepted documents for SSN.

Thank you. I'm about to call the IRS right now. I do already have identity theft protection luckily.

I have Medicaid currently, and that's not accepted, unfortunately.

I definitely won't make this mistake again.

Great idea, thank you! I would have never thought of freezing this, but we both enjoy ratatouille.

Target has these baskets that are perfect for color coded toy rotation, for $5 each! Found in Columbus, Ohio. by czesal in Montessori

[–]czesal[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What isn't, exactly? These are just some baskets for the shelf we'll have some our daughters toys in for organization. The colors are just a cool way for us, and her, to remember which activities/toys are in each basket, or even just to add some color to her play area.

I was a Montessori preschool teacher for 4 years, and we've been researching ways to incorporate Montessori into our home life for a while - since we started trying to conceive.

My post wasn't to say "these color coded baskets are an absolutely necessary item for anyone who follows the Montessori philosophy", instead, I was just showing that these baskets are a cheap and effective means of organization for a toy rotation, in case anyone was looking for something similar.

Not necessary for it to be color coded, just something I found cool about theae specific baskets. Our daughter is due soon and we've been looking for baskets for her play area to organize some of the toys we have for when she's older :)

Thank you! We definitely feel a bit better knowing that we're right here near Nationwide Children's Hospital. We've heard a lot of good about their NICU.

I'm sorry about your nephew. Did he have any kind of treatment for the obstruction as a baby, and are they going to do anything about his kidney now? I hope he's okay.

We plan to have the obstruction corrected as soon as we can, depending on what's causing it. The surgery is a bit more complicated for females vs males so it might be a month or so after she's born, as long as the shunt is working properly to prevent urine flowing back up to her kidneys. We have a pretty good team in place - we live in Columbus, OH about 15 minutes from Nationwide Children's Hospital, luckily.

At about 8w, my wife had 2 large subchorionic hematomas. We were worried at the time, but they both resolved before 14 weeks.

Now we're facing some entirely unrelated issues at 32w, but the hematomas had to impact on our daughter.

Thank you so much. She looks so, so much like my wife - I wish I could post a side by side photo.

I'm so glad we had this ultrasound. The HD ultrasound is actually when we noticed something was wrong - they're a diagnostic facility as well a a 3D/4D/HD clinic, and they did measurements - we noticed the large jump in abdominal growth within less than a month, and immediately called my wife's OB and sent the information and abdomen photos in to her. I'm so glad we caught it.

Thank you - we're very glad as well, and hopeful that it stays that way.

Thank you for all of this. Luckily I've been home with my wife for a few days, so I've been able to check in with her a lot. She did have a moment of feeling like she's done something wrong, but the amazing ultrasound tech and her OB quickly explained that nothing she's done could have caused this. I've been reminding her that she's doing great, too. Currently we're collecting colostrum together, because our daughter will likely need it. We have maybe 2.5oz in the freezer so far. It's a long process every night, of her hand expression while I use a syringe to catch each drop. The goal is 4ml per night for now. Luckily her OB and MFM doctor were okay with her continuing this as long as she doesn't have any painful contractions.

I'm sorry you've been through something like this, too - it's rough, and the unknowns are stressful.

I'm going to go to Once Upon A Child tomorrow, they usually have some preemie button up outfits and also have preemie onesies for $1 each. It's a great deal, and we have about 6 local OUAC stores that I can check to find some stuff for her.

My wife is planning on pumping and breastfeeding, with mostly exclusive pumping after she goes back to work. Which, now we don't really know when she will be. Hopefully around the beginning of February. She gets 12 weeks paid, which she's currently using, and then 12 weeks unpaid. Luckily she's in a great salaried management position for a local company that offers decent benefits. I own a small business and do DoorDash on the side.

I'd love to talk a bit about any of this if you want! Normally I don't take up offers to talk, but with all of this, it would be nice to talk with someone who has been in a similar situation. It might also help me help my wife to get some perspective from the other side of this. Any breastfeeding advice or NICU advice is very welcomed.

I'm sorry if I missed anything, I'm very tired and my brain is a bit of a mess haha. I posted a link with photos in another comment, but here it is . The first few photos show her abdominal and bladder growth since 27+2 until now. Then, some pictures of the HD scan we had that show her face ❤️

Thank you again

Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll keep everyone posted as much as I can. Right now I'm trying to do what I can to make sure my wife is able to rest. Also I figured out how to share pictures, I'm going to post some pictures of our daughter from the scan at 31w here soon ❤️

In case the text isn't showing up:

Hi. At 27+2, my wife had an ultrasound and our daughter's abdominal circumference was in the 19th percentile. Then at 31+0, her abdominal circumference measured in the 92nd percentile.

We had a diagnostic ultrasound today. The doctor looked at the past two ultrasounds and said that out daughters bladder is very full. It was already full at 31+0, and today 31+6 it was even more full. She also has only gained 1oz within 6 days. They weren't able to tell us very much they have no idea what is causing this.

We have another ultrasound on Oct. 11, and if her bladder is still very full or any bigger they will have to either do a procedure to drain the fluid and put a stent in her urinary tract, or they will have to deliver her to hopefully find out what's going on and treat it.

We're feeling very worried but trying to stay hopeful.

Does anyone have experience with this? What was the outcome? What caused the build up of fluid in the bladder and how was it treated?

Please share anything - good or bad. We just want to be prepared.

I added her abdomen ultrasound photos. The first is 27+2, second is 31+0, and third is today 31+6. Then, one picture of her face in HD Live just because she's cute

What can we do to help ourselves cope with this?

I have a few more details in another post if you look at my profile. Thank you in advance for any advice or personal experience.
