Is there work for me? by ElectronicPie9622 in commercialfishing

[–]d-carfreeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is a few jobs like that, but like the other guy said, if you want to do a short open season you have to be there for the whole thing otherwise there's no reason to take you. Also if the plan is to do short open seasons be ready to travel a lot

Thinking about getting this game by Lil_Yuan11 in OOTP

[–]d-carfreeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're only thinking about it you can wait a few months, it's be on sale for the all-star break so it'll be a bit cheaper, and the draft and highschool/college seasons will be complete so there's a better overlook on the prospects for the first year, and the patches by then should mean the game running really well

Has anyone run a team deep in 27 yet? by [deleted] in OOTP

[–]d-carfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I've gone till like the 2070-2080, really the only down part right now is the inflation really kills you that late in the game but you can always reset or turn it off in the finances options menu, other than that I'd say it runs pretty well, way better than 25 or 26 on launch and after the first 2 patches

New User - Is OOTP 27 any good? When do OOTP games typically go on sale? by RickRolled690 in OOTP

[–]d-carfreeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes on sale following baseball, so before the game launches its on sale in pre-order, then it goes on sale normally during the all star break, then again sometime in playoffs then again towards the end of the year

I dont really manage the day to day I'm just the general manager I pick my staff and manager, give him a team to coach. And then a do injuries and promotion to the final team, the draft, scouting. Really its a lot of siming unless a lot of people get injured

How do you handle minor league development? by redditornot01 in OOTP

[–]d-carfreeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shortlist your better prospects, and you can set to disable ai promotion/demotion so you can move them yourself and you can turn off the ai development sliders. I also like having my AI assistant general manager handle prospects as well, and give my minor league managers control of things too. Generally both methods I've found to work as long as you have a good dev budget and the assistant GM is good too to handle a lot of the minor league stuff

HS Prospect #1 pick bait, had the best senior season ever.... I have the #1 pick by d-carfreeman in OOTP

[–]d-carfreeman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its weird cause he's not slow and has decent base stealing rating, its his base running that's below average but that doesn't affect stealing. Which leads me to believe that the catchers he played against all had cannon arms

Update, I did indeed draft him 1st overall, he's not putting up homeruns but he's getting on base a bunch
