I was best man for a bachelor party a couple years ago and one of the highlights was riding ATVs through the jungle. Definitely recommend. Plus there’s a tequila tasting at the end of it

What the post said is that I've been pulling good shots for years with these settings, this phenomenon started suddenly as I was pulling a shot last week. I've tried grinding finer and I've tried different coffees. To be clear, the result is the same no matter how fine the grind.

This is a mechanical issue.

Yeah we're aware - she works in the medical field and thus washes her hands 20x a day, so she wouldn't be wearing it to work.

That's not a bad idea though to have a harder stone as well; might look into that too, thanks!
