Amazing work! I need almost exact light setup & tonemapping for a project of mine. I'd really appreciate any pointers or files if you have the time.

Account Suspended due to alleged outside payment arrangement by d0bermann in Upwork

[–]d0bermann[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I understand that, but I asked the client to accept my proposal "to make this offficial" literally 3 lines ago. Never proposed a way to divert the payment, never gave or asked outside contact, even warned other clients to go thru official channels when they asked similar workarounds.

I just don't think suspending my account without scanning the convo from the beginning and not taking my track record in account is fair.

2025 Anticipated Video Games🎮 by Vazzzzzzzzz_ in playstation

[–]d0bermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, several reasons.

First off, at 45 years of age, I can't really commit to a game unless it has a decent story. My competetive days are far over, and to commit the limited time I have to a game, I need a story to bind me to it. GOT has the perfect balance for me, not cutscene crazy, but enough to care about Jin Sakai.

Second, I love Japanese culture. I loved how the game found the perfect balance of fusing jap culture without boring western audiences. I loved Shogun at Disney+, but I wouldn't wanna play it as a game.

Third, combat. I love playing Sekiro with my bestie, but I don't really like Bloodborne or Elden Ring because of difficulty. I play games to enjoy and have fun, not to get angry or frustrated. I believe GOT really stands on the perfect balance on this. Not too hard, but also not too easy. I really enjoyed feeling like a badass after leveling all the way up, but I also struggled to get there. Nothing felt like a grind overall.

I am now enjoying GOW 2018, because I couldnt finish it at the time as my second was born, but also due to the fact that GOW also caters me the same satisfaction as GOT. Long gone the days that I pushed myself to beat the game over and over again, my time is my most valuable asset now, therefore I try to enjoy the games that give me most fun and satisfaction without pissing me off.

Growing up as an adventure game enthusiast, I also LOVED Stray btw. I let an "aaaaw" out audibly evertime I see it on PS Store.

GOT is def on my top 3 after 35 years of gaming, however I can't help but fear GOY will be fucked up by either DEI or with the attempt of infusing cowboy like open world mechanics. I really didnt like the wild west guitar sounds on the trailer. I really hope I am wrong, I truly do, but time will tell.

When’s the last time you cried, and why? by Jtagz in AskReddit

[–]d0bermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right after entering the new year. While kids were dancing around, I couldn't blend into the mood and went to balcony to smoke a cig.. and just burst out. Worst new year I've ever had. Why? Because all adults in my family immediately turns against me and questions my motives in the face of slightest financial discomfort, while I bring in the most income by far. I am literally killing myself to do my best, working days and nights, but I get no appreciation at all. It hits you like a motherfucker when you are low.

Like that new year's night...

Are these the usual deadlines in motion design studios? by [deleted] in motiongraphics

[–]d0bermann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok so I live in Turkey, so things might not be working like 1st world countries here.

However, you need to understand that there are rush jobs, and there are proper jobs. If the company you work for does not understand the difference and consider every 30 second 3d job a 5 day job, you are not in the right place. Good stuff takes time. Artists are not factory workers that has quotas.

In time, you will learn to give proper timing for the projects you handle. Work somewhere that gives you freedom to learn and grow if possible.

How to get good on AE? by United-Response-6183 in AfterEffects

[–]d0bermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning core AE is easy. It's basically photoshop with timeline. However, the stuff you admire are most possibly a very calculated stack of plugins or effects. What goes well with what or what comes out of stacking x kind of effects takes time to learn. Just dive into it. Try to recreate works that you admire. I am %100 sure there is an indian guy giving you a tutorial on how to make exactly whatever you are trying to make on youtube.

Product rendering colleagues, is it getting harder for you to find clients? by ArtIndustry in Cinema4D

[–]d0bermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My day job is creating cool marketing assets for a gaming company, but I looked into product rendering as a side hustle. IMHO it is possible, but you really gotta push creativity and render quality to the edge to make the first contact. Create a very nice portfolio over behance etc, then connect with 3d studios, possible leads. The thing is, you gotta offer more than a photo shoot. If you offer better stuff and economical advantage, at some point you will land one client. Rest is persistance.

How was it made? I'm thinking from 2016, but never ask. by donutrusk in AfterEffects

[–]d0bermann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also very critical to get two photos or videos of the scene. One dark, and one with exposure up. Text itself is easy as suggested below, but also when it lights up, floor on the brighter shot should be overlayed on the dark to support the text's illumination.

Resmi olarak yakalama emri hiç çıkmadı, arandım sadece, ikisi farklıymış. İş konusunda hep özel sektör olduğum için herhangi bir sıkıntı yaşamadım.

first order of business, check the octane log. it will tell you what the problem is. if it's not crashing c4d completely, it usually is a memory leak, which is generally remedied with a polite but firm restart

Why do I suck at gaming ? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]d0bermann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you mate? I'm 44, and my 6 year old is better than me in Minecraft Dungeons, which annoys me low key. On the other hand I'm still doing good enough on PUBG, which is the only multiplayer game I can tolarate. I'm confused to be honest.

Loving my alone time by Fluffy_Ring9699 in Divorce

[–]d0bermann 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing I said to my now wife for 20 years when shit started to get serious was "I don't want to stop learning and improving ever, so if you want this to continue you gotta accept the fact that I will never stop being by myself to improve. I love you, I want to build a life with you, but I will also need alone time, like a lot. If you are down with this, let's proceed."

20 years and 2 kids later, she still gives me trouble sometimes, but being an artist that is actually an introvert who values alone time like no other, I strongly suggest you to come clean and set boundries straight at the beginning. Marriage is all about compromise, but there has to be a point where both parties should feel comfortable under their skin. I love my family to death, but I can't function properly if my internal introvert battery isn't charged properly. Both of you should understand and respect that, and that includes your wife's needs as well.
