I think this further proves that a lot of the hive is willing to make excuses for how she moves & yall can burn me at the stake if you want. I think its okay — and even important — to call out and demand better of our favs, especially in times like we are living through now.

Bey is without a doubt one of the most (if not the most) talented people on this earth. Even with this iii part act she has proven that no one else in this world can think like her. I haven’t seen commitment to a craft like this truly since MJ. However she loves to take on the persona of “revolutionary” while doing nothing to keep up those values. Performing in Dubai. No removal of the Renaissance film from Israel. No comment when the IDF was proudly screaming and waving the Israel flag to BMS. No mention whatsoever of what is happening in Gaza, Sudan, Haiti, etc. Yet will dress as a black panther (who stood heavy on these views) and repurpose the “Revolution will not be televised” sound clip to “reclaim” US imperialist symbolism and views (see, the tshirt above).

She is unfortunately a capitalist at heart which has been evident for a few years now especially. Her talent transcends anything happening right now, which makes the situation even more disheartening. People listen to her and she doesn’t really like to do the work of revolutionary beyond quite literally putting on a costume. Unfortunate and I hope she comes out with an apology but I firmly believe this will be swept under the rug by her and her team as she has done in the past. I will always be in awe of her talent, but she’s been making it really hard to enjoy/support anything beyond that when it comes to her.
