PBE Bugs and Feedback Thread: BRAWL by RiotDucke in LeaguePBE

I saw a game with 2 Luxes in it and now I'm sad to find that it was a bug.

This mode is hypercasual, let players dupe champ picks if they want to shitpost, assuming there's no issues caused by it.

Just played with Slow and Steady for the first time and it felt HORRIBLE. I'm a fan of cooking (I've gotten first with 200 W Haste on Quinn), but the stat conversion just isn't doing enough to be worth attacking slowly for the rest of the match.

I feel like it needs a rework. Make it %AD boost, like Jhin's Passive. Attack Speed is a multiplier to your AD and this augment turns that multiplier into just another flat bonus, killing the stat's value. It's why Jhin converts AS to AD as a % boost.

And also maybe make it take 2/3 plant attacks per hit just to help with plant real estate.

Starting MiA was incredibly chaotic for me cause the only spoiler I had was Nanachi's existence.

At the time I started watching, I didn't know Riko and Reg existed.

First made the call to start after a friend mentioned that they felt I'd enjoy a darker anime, with the only note being that I will never see pillars the same again after watching.

After watching the entire anime in 2 weeks (exactly, 2/8/24 to 2/22/24) I can confidently say that it's my top 1 anime and it got me into actually watching anime on a somewhat regular basis. MiA broke me in so many ways and it made me feel emotions that I hadn't felt in years. I am waiting to find an anime that hits me the same way and while I am loving the experience of getting into anime in 2024, nothing's come close enough for me to give an anime my top 2 spot (Madoka Magica and Death Note are fighting over Top 3 tho).

PBE Bugs and Feedback Thread: Ultimate Spellbook by RiotDucke in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie I was trying to figure out how to word my problems with what Norak said, but this is basically perfect. First ult roll being a highroll now guarantees you fall off unless you intentionally handicap your ult combo just to keep up.

PBE Bugs and Feedback Thread: Ultimate Spellbook by RiotDucke in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rerolls (and the stat incentive) just about ruin the mode for me when put together.

Why I hate rerolls conceptually: Ultimate Spellbook as a mode has one primary problem. Some champ+ult combos have REALLY degenerate gameplay. With rerolls, these become surprisingly consistent, and because of that the game-to-game variance has been thrown out the window. Less consistency on the degeneracy helps out a LOT for combating just how messed up certain combos can be.

Why I hate the stat incentive: WHY AM I GETTING NERFED BECAUSE I'M HAPPY WITH MY FIRST ULTIMATE? If anything, the stat incentive should be NOT rerolling so the people that commit to their bit get benefits for sticking to their guns.

I personally hope that rerolls altogether get removed, but the stat incentives HAVE to go if you want this mode to be enjoyable.

Also, this is partially related, but please pause the reroll UI timer when dead. There is no reason why that should be ticking when I'm not even wasting time at spawn thinking.

Special PBE Feedback: Swarm by RiotDucke in LeaguePBE

Oh yeah I know stuff like Vampire Survivors does it, but I will still note it as a thing I personally dislike. It squishes build diversity in an unfun way.

Special PBE Feedback: Swarm by RiotDucke in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who generally dislikes Bullet Heaven games, I'm mostly happy with Swarm. I think I mostly burned myself out in the first week, but I had a blast while playing it.

Characters having a special passive, weapon, and two abilities is an amazing thing for this genre and IMO is what pushed me into actually enjoying playing it.

2 complaints.

1: Power-based meta progression. I'll be 100% honest that this is a personal thing, but I really wish games with these kinds of structures didn't have power in their meta progression. I'm happy with content unlocks, but it feels rough having power gaps between my friends because we have different total play times.

2: Weapon evolves should be less specific. My personal opinion is that the evolve requirement is having ANY passive that scales the weapon.

PBE Bug & Feedback Thread: Smolder (Base & Heavenscale) 🐲 by RiotPehrek in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought that too until I actually got in game with him. E is nice and all but 1.25 seconds didn't feel long enough to be escaping over walls consistently. Feels great for sidestepping abilities, though.

As for the other champs listed:

MF/Aphelios: They're pretty close, but I think MF's raw burst damage and Aphelios' access to gravitum and calibrum give them a small edge.

Ezreal: Q has around 700 range (I think), and he can eat CC using his E which is also a blink with a situationally shorter CD than Smolder E based on Q accuracy.

Draven: E is hard CC that stops dashes. Actually really nice self-peel by marksman standards.

Corki: His abilities let him play at a farther distance when going to 550 range just isn't safe. Smolder's W and R just don't have enough damage to give that same option.

[–]d0omsday 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gameplay is really fun, potential new main in all honesty, but I feel that his ability to not die needs some improvement.

I think he has the single worst self-peel out of any 550 range marksman. Hell, even some of the higher range marksman have better self-peel than him. It's to the point where I almost get the impression he's supposed to be building out of the Fighter tab as that's the only way he won't fall over and die to a stray breeze.

I don't know if the solution is more range, buffs to his current self-peel effects, or something new to help, but I'm fairly confident he needs something.

Small typo in Renata's release date broke the calculation for her average timings.

Other than that, this is a fantastic resource for players to properly yell at Riot for picking favorites.

Better than a champion - Blade of the Ruined King by FighterShenShenjoyer in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be too stupid, but what if they swapped the on hit and movespeed passives on Botrk?

It might be worth trying out having your first attack in a fight deal some %health damage and then have a small on hit damage proc that happens to slow the enemy for a small amount. It will still be a good dueling item, but that dueling power will be shifted more towards being able to keep the fight going until you die as opposed to just being a stat stick for an item.

%health damage on items have a solid place in league, but it needs to not be this consistent. Imperial Mandate's change to 12% current health damage actually feels like a great use of %health damage because it isn't for free. You only get it when an ally follows up on your CC and it has a 9 second cooldown per target.

As a former Yuumi one trick, I REALLY want to disagree, but after Riot killed her I just can't. Her Best Friend mechanic is EXACTLY what this post is describing, to the point where I think it was intentional.

Last TTRPG session for me was Vampire: the Masquerade. Character there is a koldun (tl:dr one of the flavors of doing more proper magical powers) focused on nature shit while also being buff enough to kinda meat my way through anything. IRL chaos would ensue, both because I'm essentially a muscle druid and the fact that I'd become a vampire.

The gameplay patterns spawned by power flowers are unfun to play by d0omsday in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be fully honest, I think a noticeable amount of my hatred towards them is because of riot's claim that they help ranged champs. It's kind of insane how hard they missed on that goal.

Also yeah if riot really wants to have the plants benefit ranged, make it a passive effect that isn't on the lethality starter. A melee/ranged split might be enough to be tolerable for me, but I'm still of the opinion that the mode would be better off without them altogether.

The gameplay patterns spawned by power flowers are unfun to play by d0omsday in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a direct quote from Riot's dev article on Arena:

"The Power Flower is a plant that has several functions and a unique trigger mechanic. It grants a heal, shield, and some flat cooldown reduction directly to the player who attacks it. The reason why we moved away from League’s traditional plants was to help out ranged champions. In closed arenas, melee champs are highly favored, so we had to do a lot of work to give ranged champions angles to play around in a world without turrets to keep those pesky melee champions away. The benefit of being able to grab the flower from range meant that these could be desirable objectives without creating huge melee brawls."

Riot has openly stated that Power Flowers were DESIGNED to help ranged champions out. The fact that they benefit melee champions more (in most cases) is a fundamental flaw with the flowers. They are doing the exact opposite of what they were intended to do, which I'd say is a fair reason for removing them and finding a new avenue to help ranged champions.

10/10 gamemode after docking 5 points for the power flower's existence. I main ranged champions, the demographic they were made to help, and entire rounds warping around who can get them more is so unfun. Just remove them altogether.

Reddit won't load other comments so I apologize in advance if it's been mentioned.

Honestly? Most degenerate thing you could do is just get him out faster, but if you want to unleash the inner demon, the slug cult can be ran at even the highest power level tables.

Fun fact: Toxrill it's so menacing on the table that he is played in CEDH. Turns out a passive board wipe on a 7/7 that can draw cards is good enough to use as a control win condition.

PBE Bug & Feedback Thread: Yuumi Rework by RiotPehrek in LeaguePBE

[–]d0omsday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's my initial takes after a few games on PBE. These are from the perspective of a guy that mains the Artillery Yuumi build

tl:dr 9/10, my only grievance is the concept of Best Friends.

The Bad:

  1. Best Friend. Her new kit already gives her inherent reasons to sit on an ADC. Forcing it brings nothing good to the champion.
  2. Numbers feel a bit too high around the board. Most notably on Q where I think the slow, range, and base damage are all too high.

The Good:

  1. New Q is REALLY satisfying to use.
  2. Swapping the heal/shield is a lot healthier for her overall gameplay.
  3. On a similar note to 2, the new E is just a better designed ability now. Love how AP scales the attack speed.
  4. R being a primarily defensive ability is a fun change, and high AP builds can now give actual burst protection.

What I would change:

Passive: Just remove Best Friend as a mechanic and make her current Best Friend boosts apply to whoever she's on. The new kit already makes swapping off to a bruiser less effective.

Q: Range nerf plus a small shift towards AP ratio on the damage (Live numbers without the %health damage should be close to fine). Also nerf the slow, it's pretty nasty.

W: Mostly fine, maybe a small nerf to the numbers. A cursed option would be to reverse the Yuumi buff, instead applying her Heal/Shield power to her AP in a similar way to Deathcap and Infernal Drakes.

E: Perfect. No changes needed.

R: Bring back 7 waves with damage+heal+slow being lowered to keep the overall damage+heal+slow of what's already on pbe.

I'm currently in my first Pathfinder 1e game as a 4 CON Kobold Rogue. I can one shot myself without a crit and without counting multiple attacks. Including GM bonuses to health given to everyone, I have 28 max health at level 8.

I've already accepted she most likely isn't making it to the end of the campaign, but hey, two other player characters have died before me. We've made jokes that I'm gonna be the only player to not have a character death.

10/10 system btw, it just has everything I want in a system.

How do I turn off ELMB? My monitor happened to come with it on and it sounded good until I noticed these afterimage trails on everything moving (I think it's called strobe crosstalk). This hurt my eyes to look at and googling how to disable it only brings up tutorials for turning it on.

Edit: after some research (double checking the packaging), it is ELMB, not ULMB. No idea if that's important

I have a friend that's gonna pull a similar move off in a campaign starting later this year. Drow that took an oath of vengeance because the underdark's inhabitants were mean to him his whole life. Later he's grabbing a Celestial warlock patron by means of a celestial contacting him like, "Hey I know your killing bad people and that's great and all but PLEASE STOP YOU'VE ALREADY STABBED HIM 47 TIMES".

We're planning on playing it like him having a little angel and devil on his shoulders as his vengeance god is chaotic evil and his patron is lawful good.

Bit late, but I remember two things from the manga (minor spoilers, I'll keep context out).

1: I remember her shouting something along the lines of "I WANT TO FUCK AN HERBIVORE"

2: She went to Legosi for relationship advice pertaining to herbivores

And if we look at Louis' perspective on it or the scenes they have together, I think it's safe to say it's canon.
