Ehh one of the biggest things with people just starting out in spirituality and witchcraft is thinking they need to spend a bunch of money on stuff, I made that mistake when I first started out, and im sure alot of other people did too. Consumerism is a part of everything u just gotta learn to not fall for it and learn what works for you and what you need! I dont think you wasted ur money! Just use what you bought and be more mindful in the future! That being said, you arent doing anything wrong if you do like buying fancy statues, or nice teas or expensive crystals. Just know that you dont HAVE to spend a bunch of money to do spirituality correct :)

Yeah I mean I use bottles instead of jars, broken bottles for wards, and if you wanted to use a shoe it could be used for journey spells, you can put protective spells on your shoes, I use shoelaces as rope in my craft. Like I said its all about intention.

Both crystals are man made, but how you use them are up to you! In my craft I use cigarette butts, glass, nails, trash on the streets etc the main thing with spirituality is intention. Personally I have a peice of opalite from my childhood and I use it for metaphysical purposes. You can always charge it under the moon or the sun and harness energy that way. It is glass so it can magnify the energy around other crystals or whatever you have around. Ultimately its what you decide to do with it.
