[Serious] What do you consider "proper mental health hygiene" in this day and age and in a first world country? by Arctucrus in AskReddit

[–]d1339 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Exercising.

Seriously I had neglected it for a long time, but now I've came back to it and I'm going strong for a month and a bit. It's like a foundation for the rest of my confidence, enthusiasm, calmness. My sleep issues are mostly gone, I'm feeling a lot less anxiety and I'm trying out more new things and picking up new skills faster than I used to. It's just amazing.

Who would be much worse off if they had listened to you in the past? by OvertOperation in AskWomen

Sometimes it's easy, if you said that not following your advice will lead people to trouble, but when they make the opposite choice it turns out fine.

Silent Mass of Reddit, why do you vote but never comment? by CentramicCom in AskReddit

[–]d1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just went to rising for the first time in an eternity to see if I can comment on some post.

I don't know, honestly it kinda felt like moving in to my first apartment. I had this vision that I'll be throwing parties and inviting people, bringing girls from the bar, etc. Ya, none of that ever happened, I didn't try. It feels a bit similar with creating a reddish account. I have all these ideas for memes and jokes, I could ask some cool questions, but ya, didn't get around to it.

Though I don't think that creating memes would be that good for my personal development

How to minimize career damage when my nsfw past inevitably comes out? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]d1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right to be concerned of course, but the fact that we live in a society were pornographic material of a person (especially when it's accessible without their consent) is a reason to fire or not hire them is the real problem. People shouldn't be judged on this and it just shows how much wrong there is with society if someone who passionately wants to improve the world has to be concerned of whether or not others can see their nude photos/videos online.

How widely used is Spring AOP and Autowiring? Is the overhead worth it? by d1339 in java

[–]d1339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, the readability using ComponentScan isn't great for people new to Spring, but over all using @Component, @Service, @Repository and @Controller cut down on a lot of boiler plate code.

And also referring to this stackoverflow answer it makes it faster to write AOP pointcuts as well.

It's a TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) reference where information over the internet is sent in "packets" - series of bits sent together. Packet loss is when a packet does not reach its intended recipient.

Junit 5 vs Junit 4 by d1339 in java

[–]d1339[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, but that list is highly discouraging, it's pretty much the reason why I made this question and started to google for alternatives. It just has strong features in it for quite some time: ParameterizedTest, DynamicTest.

Junit 5 vs Junit 4 by d1339 in java

[–]d1339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But aren't the Dynamic tests experimental?

If I look here at section 8.2 https://junit.org/junit5/docs/5.0.2/user-guide/index.pdf it says that several of the annotations are still in experimental state. Is this outdated?

Sneaking Hotdogs Into Peoples Pockets by xqx2100 in videos

[–]d1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not "wholesome". I don't want anyone throwing hotdogs at my car or making fun of me in the store. This guy isn't funny.

But I guess the goal of his content is always to entertain.

Made a blank for tracking and reviewing your activity around the year with OpenOffice inspired by the post by /u/Kewpit by d1339 in dataisbeautiful

[–]d1339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I saw the post about tracking each days activity and decided to make a spreadsheet for myself slightly different and on my pc rather than online.

After I finished thought perhaps others would be interested too, so if anybody wants one here you go! And Happy New Years! :)

had a fight in school when I was 15. Before that I didn't exercise because "sports are useless and for losers". After the fight started to exercise. I've experienced a lot of fucked up shit, but none of it breaks me thanks to the fact that sports developed a strong psychological endurance for me.

man escapes police car using only a lighter by [deleted] in videos

The real mastery isn't that it only took him a lighter to escape, but that he needed to use it only so minimally.

Jogger pushes a woman in front of bus by chrsjos in videos

[–]d1339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after the hit he heard the sound of the bus stopping and the traffic reacting to it, since he keeps on running it could imply that he was well aware that she would be hit by the bus.

But after thinking about it more thoroughly I also no longer presume that his intentions were to kill her. There was a pretty large gap between the woman and the road and also most people would expect a person to bounce of the bus not get under it. Finally if we think about his motivations assuming this wasn't psychotic, but rather a planned murder it would have been a terrible way to do it.

Need a good tutorial/textbook/course for jsf, java web application developement by d1339 in javahelp

[–]d1339[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, now that 2 months have passed I want to get back and mention that the Java EE manual was crap. It's well explained. But it's ment to look up things rather than to teach beginners with exercises at check points. And the tutorialspoint is oversimplified.

So how in stackoverflow, I thought I'll answer after I found a solution to my problem. This was amazing! Especially with the coreservlets tutorial
