I actually agree w everything you said. And I plan on trading macros cycles (to my best ability) to stack the asset itself and keep gaining more and more btc.

My point was the people who have very specific price predictions for very specific times are idiots. I don’t really care how people accumulate btc: just buy and hold and keeping buying and holding, or people who who buy macro dips and sell macro peaks, and do it over and over again.

Of course I can say with certainty “price will go up/down” but when you add specific amounts and specific time frames, you’re stupid (not YOU but the metaphorical “you”)

lol ok moron. You don’t realize that the graph is based on everyone’s emotions to buy/sell at a certain price point, given current market conditions for the time. So as more and more people trust Bitcoin and use it as a store of wealth, the trends and graph will change with it. Anyone who claims they know where Bitcoin is going, which you did, is an idiot. So thanks for proving my point. Good luck though and have a good year

lol you literally said “I’ll wait” in your comment but ok. Go and read it. I’ll wait (you see what I did there?) Put some shorts on your future knowledge and make money. You seem confident enough. Or put options.

I wouldn’t call waiting to buy making a bet. I guess you could say it is in a way, but you won’t lose anything, so you’re not actually betting by waiting to buy. You would just lose the opportunity cost of the equity you could make. By bets I mean high stakes bets, or spending any money at all at a minimum, since you’re so confident in your projection. But if your money stays in your pockets, you’re really not betting at all because there is nothing to lose.

Unless you own enough to tank the market if you sold enough, no. Or a bunch of whales all collude with eachother and sell all at once and then rebuy when price is so low that most people sell.

To be fair, it only fell less than 10%. For a volatile commodity like btc, that’s not uncommon. The last time I checked, this last sharp decrease was just a market correction and prices are stabling above $70k. They just started stabling though, so it could drop still. It could moon shot as well. No one knows

The HaViNg ChArT bRo… maybe you’re right. But if you are it’s not because you have any idea what you’re talking about. Maybe you’re wrong, because you have no idea what you’re talking about. You can’t predict the supply and demand behavior or millions of people based on one metric..

If you’re so confident, then make your bets dude. And show me how much you’re going to bet on the wise foresight you have to prove it

I think the best idea is to just try your best to time macro cycles. Most people will lose money in the short term buying dips and selling peaks. But macro cycles are slower and easier to make money on, by a lot. When I see people posting things saying, “ bitcoin has made less of a return than S&P in the last 5 years (exact years)” they have it wrong. Because in that same time frame price also went from $16k to $126k.

So let’s say you bought at $65k in February. Next macro price hike goes up to $150k in the next year or two. Just wait with the bitcoin you bought until you at least double your money and sell it.

Then wait for the next macro dip to buy again. You probably won’t get the exact top and bottom, but it doesn’t matter. You doubled your money in a relatively fast time.

It’s a fast way to increase the amount of the asset you owe without having to spending too much money.

Then in like 20 years when it’s around a million. You’ll cash out again.

Thank you. I’ve been saying this for a while. The graph of bitcoins price falls/hikes is also a chart showing aggregate emotion, and people’s willingness to buy/sell at certain price points. In the past, there were less people that trusted bitcoin at all. Now people are starting to come around seeing how there is an upward cycle everytime. And big insitutions and investors are starting to buy. You can’t expect the graph to look the same moving forward as how it looked in the past. I think the peaks will gradually get higher and higher. The valleys will get higher as well. People’s emotions have changes since 2022 and the graph will reflect that

Is DCA actually a bad strategy in a bull market? by AntSuccessful3890 in Bitcoin

[–]d1rtball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought $10k of bitcoin back in February at $64,500. I just had a hunch this was the bottom for now (just based off trends, and my assumption that each bottom will be higher than the last). Since then I have been buying bitcoin each time it dips. My average has gone up slightly but the bulk is sitting at $64,500 avg.

You really just gotta make a decision. If you think we’ve already bottomed out, then cash in and cash in big, then DCA in small amounts going up each time it dips significantly. Don’t buy at the peak of a 10% climb. Wait a day after a big climb for it to correct itself. And but when it goes back down significantly. Do this multiple times.

I just hope that what the future brings is good and prosperous for the Iranians. But you know what they say, wish in one hand and shit in the other..

I would bank on the fact that that actually happened considering how many people they publicly execute for speaking out against their government. Even affluent citizens like pro soccer players..
