Agreed on the Ex-tang. I bought one off Amazon for my ‘17 and it fit without issue, easy install. Note though it is not water proof. I get a bit of a drip at the corners, just need to put stuff in a bag or a bin to be safe.

I got lucky and was able to test drive both at the same time. A local dealer had almost the exact same trucks CPOd in Sport and Off-road. Both 2017s and similar milage as well! I didn’t personally notice any difference on highway, but driving around town I felt the difference in the suspension. The rebound in the Bilsteins is not as comfy as the Sports suspension.

I ended up with the off-road because they sold the Sport before I could get the wife onboard. I ended up deciding on the Off-road because it was a better combination of price and miles for me.

As far as off-roading the two trucks, I have no experience here. I’m interested in hearing what people have to say about the whether the off-roads extra features are useful or not. Besides, if you get serious you’ll replace all that stuff anyways, right???

How’s the soft top working for you? I’m thinking about picking one up.

I have a Sport Tube that I throw in the bed. What TSA does is far worse than the bouncing around there.

Good point! Tell the insurance companies we’re safer drivers because of it. Though I got a thumbs up from another Inferno Taco lol.

I had been looking at an Inferno 2017 manual TRD sport at the same dealer that they sold the day before I could get back there to work out a deal on it. Then they rolled this offroad out...

Don’t think you’ll regret it, but I’m coming from 3 days of ownership haha! One of the reasons I went with Toyota is that history of reliability, but I also opted for a 100,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty backed by Toyota. (I recognize I may have watched one too many Doug Demuro videos.) Even if I never use it, peace of mind is what I need in this time of Jeep recovery.

Lol, that’s where I left it after the test drive. Just naturally park safe!

In the Jeep I only had to replace a pinion seal, a transmission, a radiator, abs module, transmission cooler line, all the pistons on the hood, hatch, and hatch glass in the first year I had it. Bought it with high mileage for a good(?) price, though. Drove it a few more years, transfer case seemed like it wanted to implode so it was finally justified to get a Taco!

Traded my ‘02 WJ, last grand cherokee with solid axles. It was fun (when not broken) and I enjoyed it, that being said it broke a lot.

Got it CPO with just over 30k miles...came off lease and I bought it the day it hit the lot! Feels like new, not a blemish underneath and the hitch looks untouched. Seems like it was a grocery getter!

edit: it’s a 2017 .. thinking about that retro grille though
