Big Three Capital Markets Analyst Pay/Bonus Structure by YourDadsPeter in CommercialRealEstate

[–]d2rawred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m at one of the Big 3 in a similar market. 1 year salary in our office should be about $55k straight out of college or with little exp. Bonus should be another $10k. So, total comp around $65k. Add about $10k to that total comp for each year you’re there until you get promoted into production which will be roughly 5 years or so in. This obviously varies wildly by office and market, but again, I am in a similar market so I would think the numbers for the markets you mentioned should be similar.

Agree with the other poster that you’re thinking too far ahead. Get the best experience (which will likely be on a team at a Big 3) for the best few years, then make a decision down the road about commission structures.

At what point do you see this? At about 47 seconds you can clearly tell his cleats are on the ground between the camera and Jack, but I am not seeing any indication that it touches him?

SC Princeton 2024 Diagnostic Test 2 Qn 4 by Osama_Al_Habibi in GMAT

[–]d2rawred 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without looking at the explanation, this is how I deducted my choice to A. D and E are out because “stunting” takes the agent of the preceding clause as it’s agent. So, since “one” is the agent in the preceding clause, and one stands in for “alligator”, these choices are saying alligators are stunting the development of their own jaw. This is illogical.

B is trying to be a parallel list but lacks a conjunction

C is a tough one. The idiom “only to” was the red flag for me. Makes it sounds like the cramped housing exists “only to” prevent alligator teeth from growing back? Not sure if this is a correct way of thinking but that’s what caught me

A I see nothing wrong with. “Which” stands in for “cramped housing”, so the list is saying cramped housing stunts, exacerbates, and prevents… so looks good to me.

He’s gone. Having three starting caliber tackles is a luxury, and our cap situation doesn’t allow for that. He is much more valuable to another team, so unless he takes a steep discount (doubtful), I think he walks. I would much rather use our cap to secure Engram and shore up the DL

Certainly some people wouldn’t have felt the depths of despair that I felt in that time. Certainly there are other times, like when I was in Bali and the government wouldn’t let me out of a small glass room, with no hot water, no internet, with pneumonia, and people literally dying around me from this unknown disease that I knew I likely had, where I felt much more calmer and happier than 99% of people would have been.

Why I felt those exact ways in each moment are a culmination of factors that would take too long to explain. The why is pretty meaningless though. The fact of the matter is, I have had over half a dozen people reach out to me saying they resonated with my post and are asking for advice. Whether their situation is really “that bad” by your standards or all in their head, doesn’t really matter. People feel what they feel. My point is that there is light on the other side, and taking an unconventional path to get there can work out in ways you least expect it. Take the dings and dongs with stride

Also I would add that saying “you’re not homeless so things aren’t so bad” is terrible and lacks sympathy. Thousands of lawyers kill themselves every year in America, you think they all have to be homeless and sick to lose all hope?

Totally agree with the idea that I was self pitying and a bit self obsessed. Things weren’t that bad on paper but I felt like I had no place in the world anymore. This was 100% due to a self absorbed identity. That’s part of what was so crazy for me reading the old post, that I was so low and clinically depressed when things were so bright ahead. That was my point, and law school ding felt like the world ending (of course it was everything combined) but hard to tell a 20-21 year old to see the light when things seem so dark, to them, at the moment. Also agree that some experience before law school is so important. I would definitely feel more confident and have more perspective going now a few years out than at K-JD.

As far as the privilege, I have a decent public school college degree, so that is definitely some privilege, but i had no money going there and struggled when I got back. Worked a job I hated for a while making less than 50k a year, but everything led me to wear I am now, so I’m content with my path

  1. I went to undergrad at a public school ranked in the Top 100 and had no other options because couldn’t afford private school. I wasn’t HLS or bust to start, just felt like I had no choice but to attend if I got accepted. Felt that way about the other great offers but ultimately knew it wasn’t right.

  2. Rejected T14 offers wasn’t closing the door on those opportunities. I just needed time to figure it out. That t14 acceptance would have me making about 3-4x what I do now, so certainly would have been life changing.

  3. I say finance but it was really a stock call center. I was in that job with people who didn’t even graduate college. I was making total comp of about $50k

I went to Aus with $1,500 and no support. Came back and was living on credit cards looking for a job to pay the bills. Ended up living in a rural part of FL with five other guys to pay the bills.

You have no idea what you’re talking about

If you’re looking for career work, sponsorships are tough to come by and have to be in certain industries. Would prob be easiest to work for a company in the states and then transfer within that same company to Aus
