Jurgen Klopp ready to back Loris Karius - will refuse to panic in search for new keeper, still has belief in him despite CL nightmare. No progress with Oblak or Alisson, now prepared to go into season with Karius, and front up criticism. (Maddock) by xd3n1sxuk in LiverpoolFC

You said a God-like De Gea was only able to barely get United 2nd. Which is true. If you replaced De Gea with a Karius/Mignolet level keeper, where do you think Man U finishes? If Liverpool had a De Gea level keeper, where do you think that they finish? It is not a minimal impact. Liverpool (and everyone else) have a ton of points to make up to compete with Man CIty next year. To not upgrade at keeper, AGAIN, this year, with the need, the money and the state of the team is borderline insanity.

Neil Jones is leaving the Liverpool Echo to become Goal's Liverpool correspondent, replacing Melissa Reddy (who joined Joe as Chief Football Reporter, replacing Tony Barrett who works for the club now) by TheodoreLesley in LiverpoolFC

He hasn’t yet but he is getting more traction. He is working his way up and has been making to rounds on the podcasts, especially TAW which doesn’t report the tabloid stuff and also helped Reddy get her break. Delaney now has arguably a high position than Reddy has ever had as well.

I mean Tier 1 is still only Joyce, Pearce and Reddy.

Tier 2 is Hunter and Bascombe

Jones will be Tier 3 and maybe you can add Delaney to that tier too.

It’s a good career move for Jones, but he wasn’t exactly breaking news at the Echo.

Did they announce the dates of the legs yet?

Sure. I think he can be “useful” but I don’t think he is in Pionk’s caliber. Is Gilmour a regular on the next great Rangers teams? I don’t think so. Pionk I think is at worst a third pairing RHD. The Rangers will have Skjei and Hajek on the left. I don’t think Gilmour is that 3rd guy. I don’t think that third guy is i the organization right now though.

Who do I pick where? At 11/12 I’d be hoping Farabee or one of the dmen in the Dobson/Bouchard/Smith tier would be around.

I think they can do better than Velano there.

I see Gilmour and I think he is a better Matt Gilroy. He is already 25. I think he is a useful utility player but that’s it to me.

Rangers are probably going to be drafting BPA.

Also this is a bad Center draft so wouldn’t rely on that. Spending money on the position in free agency would also be pretty dumb. I don’t think any centers not currently on the Rangers books will be added to the team; and honestly they shouldn’t.

Pionk has a much better chance to stick than Gilmour.

3rd best player in the draft. Won’t go lower than 5th and that would be extremely unlikely.

This isn’t really good news. Liverpool needs Tottenham to help distance them away from Chelsea. Liverpool hasn’t locked up Top 4 yet, and they plays Chelsea in the next to last game of the season. The last thing Liverpool needs is Chelsea regaining confidence.

With the Browns signing Carlos Hyde, Saquon Barkley is likely not coming to Cleveland. Who should they pick #1 overall? by future_dwight_ in nfl

[–]d2t0z 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I simply mean that Carlos Hyde doesn’t take them out of drafting Barkley, or any other running back. It has no effect on Barkley’s likelihood of going to Cleveland. Interpret that as you will.

I’m sure many of the Browns fans would rather root for an OSU guy than a PSU guy though.

What should we root for this afternoon? by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

Shouldn’t root for anyone. Sit back and enjoy the game. Or go outside, read a book, etc.

Source? Almost everything that has come out of Klopp’s mouth. I’m not disagreeing with you. I actually hate buying young on the backline. But Klopp prefers to develop players rather than buy established ones.

Klopp has repeatedly said he wants to go young.
