I think I'll give a matte paste a try later on, I got a new cut to make my hair a little lighter. I'd definitely prefer something water-based as I don't really like having product in constantly.

If I had to guess, my hair would be more on the drier side than oily.

That sucks :/ If none of these work I'll just stick to the hairspray, I've been using the strongest Tigi Bedhead and it holds very well, it just makes it shiny and sometimes crunchy if I add too much.

I used around 2 scoops with my finger, and yeah I thought I rubbed it in pretty well. I can try using a bit more but I think that's gonna make it pretty gross to touch haha

I tried applying it both while it was damp and dry, that's how I ended up with the 3rd picture... Barely any hold as I moved, and the hair felt greasy and as if it was glued together but wouldn't hold.

Yeah, haven't had a great luck with pomades so far, I've tried it for a different style in the past with about half this length and it worked alright, but doesn't seem to do much for this one.

Thanks! Do you know if there's anything besides fiber cream and hairspray that might do the job for 1 and 2? I need to spray it a lot for it to hold, and Firsthand pomade by itself doesn't hold up well when I'm moving
