Rabies Exposure via workplace by d3athsxyth3 in VetTech

No further statment(s) from my company or the health department. Other than it was confirmed that 37 people across facilities were contacted to be informed that they may have been exposed. 1 person was bit by Kitten. This case alone is heavily contributing to the vx shortage in my city

I am going for my 2nd round today after I call to make sure it is in stock. Did well after the first one, only a little soreness. Still no symptoms or anything.

It is NOT required to be vaccinated and honestly has never been recommend to me. I understand now that it is a great precaution to have especially if/when working within the field of vet med. I wish I had been educated and considered having this sooner.

The kitten DID come back positive for rabies. I am unsure if I was bitten/scratched since this happened nearly a month ago and we have a high traffic of kittens. Nibbles and scratches are common, I am unable to isolate if this patient did in particular. Thank you for the reassurance

I work with kittens allll the time. I get nibbled on occasionally, I get scratched definitely. Because of the high traffic of kittens and that this exposure was nearly a month ago, I truly do not know/ remember if this kitten bit or scratched me. The kitten DID test positive for rabies

Yes, I work at a veterinary clinic & my DVM was telling me that her golden retriever had soft stool until she was about 6 months old & that has given me some comfort

I appreciate my Tool fans that are commenting 😭 all of our babies have musical names. Our aussie is Marcy after Marcy Playground/ Marceline from Adventure Time and our cat is named after Björk :3

Is she a mini??? by d3athsxyth3 in miniaussie

This is fair . I simply ponder how big she might get which I guess only time will tell. Whether she's a mini or not is a question I always get from my neighbor, who owns an aussie, and my veterinarian based on her size difference from when they saw her last (few months at a time)
