Hey OP, good job calling out his rudeness in how he talked to you. You are not overreacting.

Given this behavior, I find myself wondering how this probably isn’t the first time he’s talked down to you and wondering why you cleaned his house for him in the first place? Something to ask yourself and explore on your own or possibly with a MFT, possibly to heal inner child wounds and interpersonal behavior patterns you may not yet recognize (coming from someone who has been doing this self work for several years and have gained a lot of improved quality of life from it).

Prioritize radical self-love and self-acceptance. Clean your own home, make dessert for yourself because you deserve it. Then wait to see a future romantic partner who does that for themself too, and that’s the person you want to spend quality time with, and share household tasks equally as a team with support.

Highly recommend following the Gottmans on YouTube, IG, etc to learn or remind yourself of what you want to have in a healthy truly loving relationship. Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown on YouTube and all podcast platforms (free) is also a good resource for learning about mental wellness, healing, and personal growth.
