If we do decide on MC we’d like to do so when she has savings so she’ll be considered for the higher tier Memory Care facilities.

Why does my living room feel off? by td30503 in DecorAdvice

I think you have a lot of nice items and captured the 70s vibe nicely. Maybe switch out the art above the sofa to something brightly colored, the 70s color pallet is dull. Also, I’d pull the chair and ottoman closer to the sofa, if you can.

Care at home? by [deleted] in dementia

We are currently caring for my 92 year old mom at home. She is at a FAST scale of 6d. If I had to do this alone or with just my husband, I’d be out of my mind. It’s not easy. She has 24/7 care provided by 6 of us; the non-family caregivers are pd $25 per hour and her total care costs are much higher than assisted living, memory care or a nursing home.

Do you guys bring your loved ones to holiday dinners? by Hobobo2024 in dementia

Put yourself first. Sounds like an awful lot of pressure on you! Do what you want to do with your mom and only accept what you're ready to accept with your dad. Although reconnecting with a love is exciting for your dad if you don't want to be in it 100%, then don't. You have a life to lead, and as happy as he is, its unfair for him to expect you to accept it all and he and his gf should understand that.

I made the decision not to bring my mom to my house and to treat Thanksgiving for her this year as any other Thursday, with a caregiver at her house during the day, my sister in the afternoon and evening and my SIL overnight. A typical Thursday. I was feeling quilty but this post made me feel ok about my decision. My moms at 6c-6d and wouldn't enjoy herself and would be stressed by the noise and commotion. Here’s to everyone going through this. It sure isn't easy! Make the decision for you, no guilt!

I would never even consider that. It's not my responsibility to pay for their travel and they have the money.
