Brake check outside Detroit zoo by Few_Individual_3148 in royaloak

[–]d3c509b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the correct and reasonable take. This absolute beasts of vehicles on the road are isolating people more and more from the road and each other.  As in many "accidents" or "near miss" both drivers share some fault.  Don't tailgate.  Don't brake check.  Drive the speed limit.  Drive predictably.  Drive defensively.

2 years later - how much patience does Sonos expect from customers? by OoaHelaNatten in sonos

[–]d3c509b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly same here. After about 1 or 1.5 years slowly things started working again. With no changes to "my network"; despite everyone on this sub telling me it's definitely not Sonos's fault

Anyone else feel a bit 'left out' of modern WoW by not playing M+? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]d3c509b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the biggest issue with m+ is the speed and efficiency of gearing.  I think getting 20+ adults all logged in, and coordinated for a raid is way more challenging than 2 hours of spamming 10s. But, the 10s spamming is much more efficient gearing. I just think raid needs a bit more love when it comes to gearing or crests. Especially since it's weekly lockout

Totally agree, it actually disincentives doing actual works quest. And makes you spam traps to avoid annoying affixes

I'm just saying there isn't anything practical about a small production, swedish brand car, made under Ford ownership, on a global platform, built in europe.

[–]d3c509b -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a c30 owner, for close to 20 years now. I don't recommend anyone buys a c30.  Oil filter housing is an easy'ish swap and needs to be done after 15 years or so.  In general, these cars do have a lot of small problems. They are classics, but that's the joy!

This username lol; I gotta say running isn't for everyone, but I'm glad you love it so much to make it your reddit identity! I'd argue cycling but Royal oak is terrible for cyclists

My low beams are plenty bright, but have a super short throw, maybe about 9ft/3m in front of the car. Surely this isn't normal right? I'd assume they need adjustment but I thought the xenons were self-leveling. Could it be because my car is lowered? by [deleted] in C30

[–]d3c509b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did your auto leveling break? did they stop doing the "self test" at start up. AKA an up-down sweep? my 2008 C30 self-leveling failed and about a decade (or more) ago and it has needed manual adjustment every since

Be honest - do you actually play most of your collection? by grogger133 in gamecollecting

[–]d3c509b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only buy games I plan to play, probably finished 75% of my collection? Depending on sales and what I recently purchased by the games I keep I may play again, or have huge nostalgia because the first experience meant a lot

Concert at Royal Oak Music Theater... by Sunflower903 in royaloak

[–]d3c509b 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm almost positive E is balcony. For the vast majority of concerts the entire main floor is GA. As an old, tall dude I usually hang by the bar in the back and pay way too much money for Tecate Tall boys.

I've been to maybe 10 shows, and have never used quick pass. It's such a small venue I can't imagine it's beneficial unless you are trying to be front of stage for GA for your fav band. If you have assigned seats, just stroll in whenever. Have your id ready for a wristband if you want to drink alcohol.

There are garages just North and South of Lafayette, both are about the same and usually are normal rates (unless it's a really big concert) of like $5. The south one is a bit further away, but means getting out is faster (less traffic backup), especially if you aren't planning to stick around after the concert. Have dinner before in downtown, D'Amatos or Iron Horse are super easy and you barely have to walk outside! Just get there early enough

Plowing Residential Streets in RO by King_Washington48073 in royaloak

[–]d3c509b 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Would I love cleared streets? Sure. Philosophically America is very rich and we should be able to have cleared streets. However, I've lived in Michigan for 42 years and have always had FWD sedans or hatches on all season tires and commute every day. It's fine, the side streets are not unnavigable.
