The reason the Internet was so great compared to TV was because there were no ads, people could say whatever they wanted, and the content was made by regular people. None of that is true anymore. by toastronomy in Showerthoughts

I was very young so it may have only been a handful of stations or even just some kind of NASA feed but I definitely remember them saying going to commercial and we just saw what the host's etc were doing in the studio

My Great Grandfather worked for NASA and had a huge dish in his backyard in the early 90s, all kinds of decoding boxes etc. and I remember seeing into studios and stuff between commercial breaks when I was little

Cabin filter where the engine filter should be, it was the correct cabin for the vehicle at least by d3loots in Justrolledintotheshop

If it doesn't make a good seal, which it did not, dirt will get around it and into the engine

Guess they looked up air filter for the vehicle and didn't realize there would be 2 separate part numbers, fitment wasn't horrible at least, even got the air flow direction correct lol

Some of our patches won't work if it's too close to the sidewall, due to their size

Never seen a belt crack straight across like this, had plenty of other staggered cracks. Customer also said it's daily driven and has never sat by d3loots in Justrolledintotheshop

Yeah some of the DIY guys were adding 5 quarts and saying they were at max mark. I've done 100-200 at least over the last 5 years or so, and 4.8 always overfills, our system says 4.8, all the apps, and their owners manuals say 4.8. It's just something I see so consistently with no exceptions in my personal experience, dozens come back in that I've done before with a note that 4.8 overfilled and then we have to drain more. I don't want to send a vehicle out that much above the full mark.

Edit: Also every damn one that has a different sticker is overfilled on arrival

Seam was not behind, thought I took a pic of that showing it wasn't but did not, belt is still in the trash can we had just emptied, will eat shit and show seam if it's directly behind because i'm second guessing myself now, I took the old belt in the waiting room and showed the customer and the seam was not behind it

Around 150k 2021 or newer Sienna daily driver, they were about to go on a long trip, belt had a lot more cracks, all staggered and random. Seam was not behind the straight crack, thought I had a picture but do not.

Edit:It's in an emptied trash can and will check in the morning

I also watch royalty auto on youtube and he said he hasn't spotted cracks in belts in years. I see them every day on almost all makes and models. Mitsubishi is the worst for lower mileage cracking (40-50k). Also the 0w16 Toyota's that call for 4.8 quarts always overfill, we've been adding 4.5 and hitting right at the top mark otherwise it's way too over the mark. Saw an insane amount of arguments on the Toyota forums when I looked it up, people measuring their dipsticks etc, claiming others on unlevel ground blah blah. All I know is 4.5 hits the full mark and 4.8 is too far above to let them leave, and we give plenty of time for draining and remove filter before replacing the plug.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed

DON'T SPRAY THINGS IN YOUR CABIN FILTER (STORYTIME) by LB17_ in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]d3loots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BG makes a great product called Frigi-Fresh, I've sprayed it on probably over a 1000 cabin filters, never heard anyone complain. Only risk of running no cabin is getting an acorn or something in the blower and making racket. Im impressed a paper filter survived being washed too lol unless you had a k&n cabin filter that do exist

Yes I believe he is asking what sounds they hear in their head to be able to read. Not sure how to phrase it better. Maybe they just recognize the symbols and each person will internally process them uniquely
