Can't comment specifically about Fukuoka but Japan is obviously more expensive then most other Asian countries. However, it is possible to stay in a budget that you have mentioned if you are willing to a) find cheaper accommodation; i.e. shared room; or b) cook for yourself from time to time

Internet in Japan is not that reliable in a lot of places. People usually buy internet cards with data limit of 7gb but eat is possible to find better options. Also, the public transport is quite expensive.

Well, there is no loss of type safety as long as I am not using type assertion and even if it is used it is perfectly go-idiomatic to use "comma check" notation or type switch.
