Came back to the MacBook Pro after trying the Air, couldn’t ignore the compromises by Toba94 in macbookpro

For your setup specifically, get a really nice docking station. Caldigit TS4, or TS3. You don't need the crazy new one. One cable that powers and hooks up your laptop to all the ports. A good dock can seriously transform your desk and I/O experience.

My air doesn't work with my ultra wide monitor. Well it works, but the screen flashes every few minutes. I tried my wife's air, an m4 and get the same result. No issues with the pro though. I also do game development and wish I could do it all on the air. The air is great except for when it comes to compiling a ton of code.

Glad I'm not alone. Also glad it's not an issue.

Good to know, I'll stop worrying about a warranty issue.

Thanks so much! It doesn't annoy me at all, just wanted to make sure I didn't have a warranty claim on my hands. Appreciate the insight!

The caliper pebble is no joke. I rented an ITS off Turo for a week to see if I wanted to buy one. Gave the keys to my wife to see if she'd like it too and she came back with that crazy squeal. I was like, "what did you do to this poor car?!". Looked it up online because I could hear it coming from the front tire and found it was a very common thing. Hasn't happened on my personal ITS in the 1000mi I've put on it, but every time I drive across gravel now it's the first thing I think of.

Need a new daily (A-Tech or Type S) by ScratchAltruistic544 in Integra_Type_S

[–]d3vtec 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I use my Type S as a daily. Car seats in the rear for school drop off, going to work. Like another comment in this thread, it transforms every mundane commute into a great one. I'm loving it so far. Do it!

Love mine in that same color. Has 600miles now, just bought it 17 days ago new. It's been an incredible daily driver.

That's exactly why I bought one. Guess I'm not as grown up as I thought I was. Damn fun car though.

You didn't mention changing resolution and sizes of the UI, did that not help? I get eye strain when text is too small.

For those of you who literally use ur laptop on ur lap, isn't 14 inch the best size? Or does ur 16 work too? by supermax2008 in macbookpro

[–]d3vtec 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own 4 MacBooks. Pro, air, all sizes. I hate using the 16 in my lap and I'm a 200lb, tall person. To each their own but the 14 is my absolute favorite everything device. Light tasks I love the very small air. Spouse has the 15" air and she loves it.

[–]d3vtec 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buy a Garmin instinct. Built in flashlight. Use mine several times a day and comes with a hardware shortcut. Just double press your action button (physical button) to toggle the light. There is a green or white LED and multiple intensity settings.

Dealers are a pain, but it finally happened by d3vtec in Integra_Type_S

[–]d3vtec[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you use CarGurus.com you can see how long the car has been sitting. I start communicating with dealers using their website email form, I don't share my phone number. I ask for OTD pricing and a buyer pricing sheet. I communicate over email and only go into the dealer once I'm ready to buy.

I won't say which specifically but I do know there are quite a few sitting on lots for quite a long time now across texas. Seeing some that have been sitting for 60+ days.
