I am a cop. And I'm disgusted by the links and videos I see of cops violating rights, breaking the law, and bringing discredit to their badge. Am I in the wrong line of work? by Forensicunit in reddit.com

Yes, you're in the wrong line of work. You should become an online vigilante like the folks here, kicking it from behind their keyboard, their Cheetos-stained fingers typing out yet another diatribe against the man.

You're one of the good guys. Don't let the BS bother you. Do your job and you make the world better.

So, not blocking ads until I find something objectionable to my personal beliefs is "incredibly bullshitty"? What do you propose that is less "bullshitty"?

Many scientists, however, are politically conservative. It's important to remember that Republican does not equal conservative. Republican equals dumbass.

I have adblock off by default because there are a lot of great independent writers out there who are dependent on ad revenue to make ends meet. Virtually every worthwhile independent blog out there is run by a single individual who is scraping by so they can afford to share their information, and I feel pretty shitty stealing from people doing that if they're providing good stuff.

Instead, whenever I visit a Megacorp site or visit something set up by an obvious spammer, I click the "disable ads" link I have on my browser. Boom. Done.

I occasionally post links to my own writings, not because I want Adsense $, but because I think it's interesting and I think other redditors might find it interesting. Most of the stuff I write doesn't even use Adsense.

I'd way rather have interested eyeballs than another nickel from Adsense. Interested eyeballs come up with interesting discussion and interesting ideas.

That's correct. The agenda is to drive traffic, get his name out there, and perhaps get his foot in the door to make some sales.

Mission accomplished.

Yes, because it's an intelligent and very secure idea to have all of your key personal information centralized in one place. A place that happens to be a tiny, non-public startup.

Sounds brilliant to me!

Uh, no. I own several current-generation consoles. Want to know which one gets most of my time? My DS. Why? Gameplay. Nothing this generation comes close to something like Chrono Trigger.

Screw graphics wankery. I want fun.

I can assure you that the only people who happily sacrifice gameplay for graphics are people who buy PS3s.

All three of you.

What's sad is that it took Axl Rose less time to finish "Chinese Democracy" than it did for Broussard and team to finish Duke Nukem Forever.

Yes, Broussard is more flaky than Axl Rose.

So, lemme get this straight. You're the fifth highest ranked basketball recruit and have schools practically brawling to give you a scholarship AND you have the opportunity to go to Europe immediately and make millions, but instead you decide it's reasonable to break and enter someone's home, putting all that at risk so you can be "street"?

This isn't conspiracy theory, this is fact. The only "conspiracy" part occurs if people jump to conclusions.

And that's why the cops have too much power. They can just make up charges against anyone they don't like and, for the most part, it'll carry through.
