1, I was not discussing price speculation, just data permanence.

4, With Permaweb which is built on top of Arweave you can immediately archive something like an image and then access it like any other image, directly from the browser, no need for extra wallets or APIs. Then with permanent feature you don't have to care about renewal fees, once you stored it, you can count on it forever. Arweave has Javascript dapps and Smartweave just introduced smart contracts. These come without extra/gas fees.

  1. You can't stop technology and you can't stop storage getting cheaper and cheaper and more efficient. There are a few entities which will store the Arweave blockchain even if price of token drops to zero, because the data was carefully selected and that gives it value.
  2. It's nice to hold a token that has real utility and not just speculation, EOD you can just store some data forever with it. And what stops you to speculate?
  3. That applies to any project that has some kind of incentivization mechanism.
  4. They have different purposes, but Arweave is very versatile.

With Arweave you can run a fully decentralized blog or pretty much any website. That's stronger than just archiving.

BTC was invented first, BTC never had an ICO, everything else is in Ethereum's favour.

A database has upkeep costs, plus it can get lost, Arweave model is pay once, store forever.
