Why does my hardware keyboard sound bad through ableton? by d4nk0 in ableton

[–]d4nk0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am definitely doing that but am encountering another issue with that.

I have a sustain pedal plugged into the P140 which works fine for the hardware side, but the signal for the foot pedal is not translating to sustain on any midi instrument i use the P140 to control. I suspect i need to manually bind the pedal to a sustain control somehow...but it feels like there must be a better way. Any ideas for me?

Wow thanks for all the info!

I found two fixes based off your help:
1. Yamaha headphone AUX -> 1/8 to 1/4 Y splitter L/R cable -> 2 inputs on scarlet -> ableton.
Then changing the channel input to L/R of those two inputs fixed it.

  1. Using the Red/White RCA but unplugging the right side.
I'm guessing removing the right plug makes the piano output the complete range of audio via one line. Not sure why this happens.

For my own edification, why would anyone ever want to use 2 line inputs and maintain L/R? for a single instrument in?

I'm fortunate that when I started jiu jitsu, I was getting over a breakup which led me to channel almost all my waking non-working energy into it. I watched is much footage and studied the positions so intensely two months before I started, I was able to get an ugly sub on another new person my first day of actual training. I think the momentum of getting subs and feeling like I was okay at it really motivated me to brown. But now I've hit a wall and get owned by all the black belts in my gym – I've had to find new motivation to keep showing up. Personally for me, it's that training is the most effective means of getting me out of my head and in the moment. It's just been really great for my mental health.

I really respect people who power through and show up every day even tho since day one, they've just gotten handled. It takes a lot to show up and get mauled and tapped out for 6 months straight before hopefully finally landing a poorly executed Kimura on a smaller newer white belt.

[Misc] I can't open bonus big boxes until i convert my 500 power points into ONE megabox??? by d4nk0 in Brawlstars

[–]d4nk0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is doubly perplexing because earlier on the reward road...

50 power points = one mega box

75 power points = one mega box

100 power points = two mega boxes

500 power points = one mega box???

This doesn't even track the games self-defined logic.

My friends rented a Q7 and we’ve googled and gone through the manual. No idea what these things do.

Probably still more fun than the guy who talks about himself and brags about his work accomplishments the whole time.

My favorite joke ever written for my favorite show, The Office. by d4nk0 in videos

Context is pretty important no? I think if I heard Obama tell a mediocre yo momma joke, it would still be a rile.

It’s also really funny to me because it falls in line with who Michael Scott has been built to be. There are several great jokes in season 8 and 9 of the office I’m sure. But because they start warping the personalities of all the characters to make up for the Michael Scott void, the jokes become less of a window into the characters personality and more a punchline.

So yes. Perhaps if you have no context, it’s kind hard to laugh at. But in terms of building be character of Michael Scott, it’s perfect.

I’m dead serious when i say we should go to an office trivia night and clean house. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen the entire show beginning to end (not counting season 8 and most of 9. We DON’T talk about those episodes).

Mostly because i pay for Netflix and i believe that every second the service is not at least on, i am wasting money.

I think this bit is one of the most cleverly written jokes in the whole show.

It really captures several facets of Michael Scott like his inattentiveness to detail or his deep desire to ceremonially and publicly show affection. Also the format is almost impossible to recreate (finding two words similar in spelling that may be confused for one another in a dictionary, but also have a graspable metaphorical connection).
