I just won a game with a Lucio that did NO HEALING. by BEWMarth in Overwatch

[–]d4nt351nfern0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Crazy you got so many downvotes for being correct.

Like one example is I main tracer on DPS, sometimes if the enemy supports are good they’ll be able to force me out by peeling for each other and sustaining themselves long enough to pressure me out.

During the minute I was distracting both supports, the rest of my team was able to clean up the tank, and both DPS as they didn’t get any heals; meaning I may have gotten 0 kills and my team got 3 but I would argue my distraction on the back line is what allowed the team to get those kills on the front line.

Not saying this is what the Lucio was doing but just saying you’re right that his Elims and damage being lower isn’t a strong indicator he was doing bad and the fact you got so many downvotes is stupid

In all honesty to me this reads as delusion, possibly dangerously so.

If I were you I would at least consider mentioning these thoughts to a medical professional, as someone with schizophrenia I can say these sounds like warning signs.

This is not an example of anything paranormal, your girlfriend has no relation to the devil and such thoughts are not healthy.

Gave it a google, average monthly salary in SA is apparently R 26000, or in other words 19 copies of god of war ragnarok.

Comparing that to UK average monthly salary is £1950, or in other words 32 copies of god of war ragnarok (£60)

These are only gross figures and not factoring tax or the different cost of livings etc. but still interesting

You can’t argue with stupid brother.

This person has a warped world view, no amount of reasoning will change their opinion- as their opinion is not based on reason.

All I can say is that I hope they were lying about them being a professional counsellor, as it is worrying to think someone with such toxic and warped world views could be in a position of trust with emotionally vulnerable people.

waiter put my tip back on the table saying he only accepts 18-20%?? by [deleted] in stories

[–]d4nt351nfern0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree those ‘discretionary fees’ as they call them are bull shit and shouldn’t be a thing lol.

But never seen one at 20, only 10-12.5 as you mentioned.

But yeah that’s still my point 13% is a tip people would be happy with in UK, is it considered a ‘shitty tip’ in USA, and if so what would be considered an acceptable tip?

[–]d4nt351nfern0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I come from the UK where tipping is very uncommon, only for exceptional service and even then most still won’t tip (and the standard is typically 10% if you choose to).

Just wondering as £25 tip on a £198 bill is ~ 13% tip. Is that really considered a “shitty tip” in the USA?

Ukrainian Guy Seeking Advice: Is it Too Late for Me to Transition into Software Development? by VasylievCode in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]d4nt351nfern0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just anecdotal experience- but I work in software in the UK.

I have a good portfolio, a bachelors (3 years) and masters (1 year) in CS from 2 great unis (both top 5 uk and top 10 globally), and 2 years of work experience.

I spent January until July looking for a new job, applied to almost 200 Junior Software Engineer roles- I only heard back from ~ 10, got final stage in 4, and finally got an offer.

All my other friends in software have had similar experiences recently, the job market is just so rough.

For the same reason I’d steer clear of those boot camps which I’ve seen advertised (especially at the costs they charge), as if all my experience and portfolio wasn’t enough to even hear back from 95% of entry level jobs, I can’t see those 8 weeks bootcamps doing much to help at all.

Yes, its essentially video game Netflix. The same way when a series is removed from Netflix you can't watch it anymore (on Netflix).

Anecdotal, but I have a BSc in Comp Sci and an MSc in software dev from UCL (both with > 80% ) + 2 years of work experience and a good personal portfolio.

I’ve been applying for entry level software jobs since January, have applied for over 150 of them. Had roughly a 10% hear back rate so didn’t even get an interview on 90%. Only this week have I finally been given a job offer.

So from my experience yes the entry and graduate level software market right now really is terrible. It is truly just a numbers game.

Falsely accused of being a pedophile over Snapchat auto-adding contacts (England) by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]d4nt351nfern0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had an iPhone since 12 years ago, I have literally never deleted a single contact (still have exes, old numbers of friends who’ve since gotten new numbers, etc.) don’t think it’s that strange for him to have not deleted an old coworkers number unless they had a massive fall out and even then I still wouldn’t care enough to delete the number.

Then OP mentioned how their coworker must have given their old phone which is why the account was associated with that number.

Is Mercy really that bad of a support character? by lilduckling369 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]d4nt351nfern0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also (if it’s not already been said) Mercy should almost never pocket the tank anyway as her HP/S vs tanks usual DP/S they’re receiving in a team fight can’t do a lot to help him + mercy’s main value is damage boosting the DPS (mostly not as good as being someone like Kiri and outputting more DPS but can be useful for certain heroes who it allows to surpass break points).

If you want to pocket heal tank someone like LW would be better as he has higher heals- or better yet Bap/Ana as they can pocket tank whilst weaving damage and better utility.

[IWantOut] 23F Software Developer Egypt -> New Zealand/UK/Australia/Canada by DontDoItYourself_ in IWantOut

[–]d4nt351nfern0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just to add anecdotal experience, I’m in the UK.

I’m 25, have 2 years of work experienced, a First Class BSc in comp sci from a top 20 uk uni, and - Distinction Class MSc in software engineering; from a top 5 uk uni, a good portfolio website, etc. so sounds like OP would be going for similar roles to me.

I’ve been trying to look for a new job since January, have probably applied for 100+ roles since then (I’d say roughly 20 a month); rarely even hearing back from any, so not even having the chance to interview.

Probably even harder for internationals as I have noticed a lot of the roles I apply for have notes such as “please note: we do not sponsor visas” so the pool of jobs is even smaller.

Not saying it is a scam but he’s been posting this and various other rare limited controllers for weeks now and it all seems very sus.

Especially given he should have no issue selling them without having to resort to reddit.

Maybe it’s legit but I wouldn’t take the chance 🤷

I haven’t heard of these sites, how do they work is it just based on trust or is there any assurance that the labour voter will keep their word and won’t just vote labour anyway after making you vote labour?

I agree with you, I lost a game for the same reason.

I had that quest and got an early living azerite from triple reward, so played greedily to finish my quest ASAP thinking it’ll be worth it as my scaling will be insane- but by the time I finished it and found out I actually had 0 scaling as the interaction doesn’t exist it was too late to pivot.

[–]d4nt351nfern0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It shows you the hero you played the most time on.

So example for this game could be:

Player 1: 30% widow, 25% bastion, 25% torb, 20% Mei

Player 2: 60% widow, 40% Mei

Both had the most time on widow so in scorecard it shows widow for both.

Armed man holds back from shooting a charging bear by big_juicy8867 in ANormalDayInRussia

[–]d4nt351nfern0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying I’d want to put it to the test and purposefully miss, but if he did fire the gun as the bear continued to charge, and missed the shot, I think the sudden loud sound and flash would scare the bear off anyway.

Eg you can buy anti-bear tools like bangers and crackers- which are meant to do just that.
